DTV's pic is now way overcompressed on almost all SD channels. Much worst now than a few weeks ago. Cable looks much better whether digital or analog.

I'd get the R-15 now because if you ever leave DTV then you can keep your favorite movies up to like 100 hours. I got the Super Bowl saved "forever." I like the R15 and never used Tivo exept one time a couple years ago and the guide was so damn slow that I would never consider it.

That's apples to oranges. Many of the people who started out with DTV lived in the sticks (no cable) or were sports fanatics. IMO, the high price of DTV in the early years is why E* has customers.
