Good FTA HD channels & receiver

I've been spending some time looking at LNBs and how to mod/test some of them. I'm not so sure the scan matter is related to weather its circular or linear as much as it is a HI or LO freq.. The circular lnb (11250 GHz) will scan great no matter what settings I use in the setup menu. Its found...

Good FTA HD channels & receiver

VSMAXHD I noticed today that some web sites removed any claims that this unit can blind scan. The "read me" text with the latest (v1.7) software says that improvements in "bind scan" were improved, so reinstalled v1.4, thinking that updates may have screwed things up. I tried scanning with new...

Good FTA HD channels & receiver

VSMAXHD I've received a vsmax from GoSat and I share concerns about the unit. No, it wont blind scan. After upgrading the main software to v1.7, it still wont blind scan, can't add or change names on sats. I can pick up ASN on Anik1 at nearly 98% w/Pansat 2700a, but the VSMAX only shows about...

DVB-S or DVB-S2, SDTV or HDTV receiver which type to choose?

Viewsat max (vsmaxhd) I just received a Viewsat max today and was severely disappointed that it wouldn't blind scan well at all ! Now I'm trying to find out what the problem is, looks like I'm not alone on this matter. As Ice had pointed out, I was expecting to blind scan w/Pansat 2700a and...

    Plywood Dish?!

I dont see any reason why a Fresnal type reflector wouldnt work, I was wondering about it myself some time back. A reflector resembling a checker board would work also, idividual squares pointing towards focal point.

    Pansat 2700 first channel help

D W on AMC 1 Im not real smart on this stuff, but I will try and help you out. I have found DW on AMC 1, it comes in weak, appearently due to video compression. On clear days it comes in well. I use the LNB setting of (standard 5150) . If you use the (Single SL) setting, you will be able to...

Dolby sound carrier for PBS stations.

In the above link, if you move your mouse over the bold print, you will find links to schematics and photos etc. . My interest is to simply decode the data from digital into analog, for mono or stereo without the cost of home theater systems. Another link about DACs...

New .5 dB LNBF, C band

Ive come accross a new C band LNBF, but to my knowlege, there are none in the USA. I believe there are a number of us that are using the ASC 421, rated at .13dB. This new one is rated at .5dB. Ive contacted the manufacturer and they replied by asking me if I would be interested in being a...

    dish pics

Ive salvage a 10' BUD like yours, yet to set it up. Im presently using a 170cm dish, Winegard, maybe identical to your 6' dish. Due to signal issues with C/Ku combo feeds, you may want to use the 10' for C band and the 6' for Ku.

C-Band converting to FTA help. No signal

jfee, I also have a 2700a. If you use the single SL lnb setting, the TP data is factory set, then u can use the setting page to check for signal. However, if you use standard 5150 setting, you will not find a signal. You'll have to do a "smart search" for TPs. Once TPs are logged, then you can...

    Multicasting

Ive noticed lately some commercials on G10 about multicasting. I dont know much about it, but it seems like its something the cable companies and the big sat providers dont want to happen, or they certanly want to stop it. Seems like this multicasting posses a threat to the monopolies that want...

    Dual c/ku feed

If your in a home owners assosiation which restrict dish sizes, than I can understand your intrests in a 4' dish with C band. There seems to be some comment that using a dish under 6' for C band is not very effective. Ive been using a 5.5' dish, while it does work, the availible channels will be...
