My receiver doesn't list AMC 9. What do I do?

Taking a signal finder up the tree made me realize two things: 1. I was pretty far off in elevation (too low) and 2. I did NOT need to install that dish 8' up a tree. How this elevation problem came about is because I had lost track of my two signal finders during our interstate move. I didn't...

My receiver doesn't list AMC 9. What do I do?

I'm going to reset my receiver to those specs; standard LNB, set LO to 10600 and verify 22Khz is on. After that, what if I took the signal finder out to the antenna without taking the tv and receiver. The receiver power should go through the cable and run the signal finder, correct? I know I...

My receiver doesn't list AMC 9. What do I do?

It's set to Universal, Auto 22Khz, LO 9750-10600. What's the 22Khz used for? And not to leave any stone unturned, about 130' of the RG-6 is buried 3 to 4 inches in the dirt.

My receiver doesn't list AMC 9. What do I do?

My remote doesn't have alphabet characters and there doesn't seem to be some way to select letters. But anyway, that problem is now last on the list. I can't seem to get more than 62 S no matter what sat my receiver thinks I'm aiming at. UserSat-1 only gives me a 56 S no matter how I point...

My receiver doesn't list AMC 9. What do I do?

I shoulda bought Platinum. The third option is grayed out, cursor jumps right to Delete a Satellite. I'll stick with UserSat-1 for now. I will report back tomorrow.

Exactly which menu to rename the bird? Is it the Channel Scan menu?

My receiver doesn't list AMC 9. What do I do?

Catamount is right about adding through Channel Scan, which seems odd. I'll be right back.

My receiver doesn't list AMC 9. What do I do?

Okay, Catamount is correct in that you can add a satellite through the Channel Scan menu, which seems odd. Anyway, I have added UserSat-1, but I cannot (so far) change it's name. I was able to add the three transponders suggested by FaT Air, and I noticed that the second number of each pair is...

Phlat, let me try to figure out this add a transponder thing. I'll be right back.

My receiver doesn't list AMC 9. What do I do?

No, it does not show a satellite at 83.0w. It has Nimiq 2 at 82 and Brazilsat at 84. Also, I do not see an option to add or edit a satellite in this menu. Maybe somewhere else? I'll try checking other menus, but this one is the Installation menu.

My receiver doesn't list AMC 9. What do I do?

Once again, we have moved to another state. This time, I have mounted my Geosat Pro 1.2m dish eight feet up on the side of a tree (see my avatar). But when I went to the installation menu of my Viewsat PVR 7000, the receiver doesn't even list AMC 9 (83.0w) as an option. The last time this one...

    Coming Back on Line...

Guys, I should have made it clear that I already have a 1.2 meter and a 1.8 meter dish, one for each band. I hope the 1.8 will be able to handle C band, as it has not yet been deployed since I bought it. But I do appreciate the info from both of you, including the correction to 101 degrees. I...

Guys (and ladies if you are here), I've been away for awhile and now I have relocated to west central Idaho. I decided to set up my Ku rig first, because it seems easier, and do the C later. To my horror, I find that Galaxy 10r is gone, and that was the bird that kept the peace in our house...

Well it's as close as you can get to the Phoenix Contact Combicon, as described by rglore. About a 99% match. I wonder if it's some other manufacturer trying to get close to the Phoenix Contact product? At any rate, I can now search locally with a correct name to use. Thanks, rglore. And...

They plug into the back of a phantom power microphone preamplifier, input, output, and remote jacks. Must be fairly new, because it was part of a quarter million dollar sound system install, done by a nationally known audio company, specializing in state-of-the-art equipment. Job completed a...

    39" SATELLITE DISH+SG2100 MOTOR+QPH031 QUAD LNB

Bobby, You may need to start your own thread for your questions. A lot of people used to read Newbies Gone Wild, but I think most are now waiting for my next project. The only thing I can tell you is that I will never again try to push a 4 foot dish with an SG2100 motor. I'll bet it will...

WEC, thanks for the link to RTN programming! And like you said, it's still gonna be a fight for the remote for awhile. And thanks Pop... I have two more dishes in the garage, and an unused BUD on the back of the roof. I'll be back soon with a new thread for the next "Newbies Go" project...

Thanks, Tron! Lak7, I made a boo-boo; it's NBC that's elusive. She already found CBS somewhere in that group of 47 channels. So, Anole, I hope the family lets me rest a bit, but I know my oldest son is already cruizin' eBay, to find a 4DTV. He still thinks he can buy two or maybe three...

Yes, it was quite a rush when a real picture came on the tube, even though it was a little picture surrounded by lots of other material (advertisements??), I don't even remember what that other stuff was. I remember noting what looked like the VA logo, and then calling out to all in the...
