Reviews: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

I see a lot of confusion in the audio realm and the use of terminology. AC-3 is the coined term for Dolby Digital encoded stream. A dvd player, STB etc; when set to "pcm", will decode the surround signal whether it is AC-3 or whatever else it can do and then send it out HDMI or opt/coax. When...

Special: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

I put in an order before you posted this but after you stated you ran out of the first batch. I was under the impression the discount was still in place through the 25th, regardless of "in stock" or not. If this should have been a PM I apologize but, thought others may have been in the same...

So then how are you doing this exactly crackt?

combine c-band G-box, and ku motor with switch

how do i switch between them with the ecoda? does it matter which one is on the 22kHz leg? I assume i set every sat I want to get with the 22k leg that it needs to be on to function right? I do not see how that would stop the Ku side from moving with the diseqc 1.2 command I use on the c-band...

combine c-band G-box, and ku motor with switch

I was afraid this was going to be a tough one, if not impossible. What if one used an A/B box, that would separate C from KU at any point along the arc I would think. Question is is there any issue of bandwidth or communications going through one of those boxes.

combine c-band G-box, and ku motor with switch

I just got my bud operational, and fired my ku back up as well. I need to be able to switch between a standard lnb ku motorized, and a G-box controlled c-band lnbf setup. I have a few receivers but am at the moment just concerned about hooking one up (coolsat 6k). I have 2 ecoda 22kHz...

    help with switches

Ok, I think I grasp the post #5 pretty easy, now how does one setup the receiver to know which "port" it is using on the switch? ? #2... Can I use a hose clamp and put my dbs lnb(for 119) beside my standard lnb on the stationary dish if I park it at 123W? If I read it correctly you can do...

    help with switches

I have read the switch FAQ but I am not sure what to do. I have one standard lnb on a motor, one standard lnb on a stationary dish, and one circular lnb for nasa/angel one. I want to hook this up to 2 receivers, I can settle for one right now if i need to. fortec star merc II coolsat 6000...

They seem to be good people. I told them about the missing lnb. I got a reply, shipping me an lnb out today.

    Too Good to be True?

I got mine all unboxed only to find there was no lnb in the box. I don't know if it was a mistake or not. :( I sent an email to them, hopefully they will respond and tell me they are sending one at no charge. I will say even without the lnb it was still a deal. I had one to use so not a big...

2 lnb and a switch question

Yes it is a standard lnb. I guess I will be buying a 22k switch now. :) Are the dish network SW21 the same thing? I think I might be able to pick one of them up for free.

2 lnb and a switch question

ok, now you peaked my interest. Does the 22khz switch wire the same only i just set the circular lnb satellites i want to hit with a 22khz tone set to on all the time? sure seems easier.

2 lnb and a switch question

No one knows? Perhaps my wording was confusing. I want to know the best way to add a circular lnb to my linear lnb. I can either strap it to the side or i have a pizza dish i can point at 119 for NASA. I think if i strap it to the right side(facing dish) of my motorized setup when i am on...

2 lnb and a switch question

I am happily panning the arc picking off channels. I have an extra oldskool directv sinle lnb i wanted to add to my system. i have a 4x1 diseqc switch that i can use. From what I have read it should be hooked up, lnb(s), switch, motor, receiver. What do I have to setup in my receiver to make...

    motor/dish setup question

ok cool, think i got it nailed down on what i need to do. I still need to know if the setup needs to face magnetic south or true south before i move my dish from 0. My plan is to send motor to 0, realign the motor/dish to magnetic south or true south?, then using usals send that puppy to 87w...

    motor/dish setup question

I have all my gear setup and I have been able to pull a couple audio channels from my most southern satellite AMC3. That is weird because according to the list there isn't any on there. I also tried to pick 123W, i can't get a thing. upon checking a few more sats, all my signal level is 80%...

FTA Receiver with ATSC Tuners + PVR

It sounds to me like you need an HTPC. It can do it all when set up properly. I'm curious as to why you need two ATSC tuners in the same machine. So you can PVR one channel while watching another? I would definitely look into an HTPC, you can have two ATSC cards, and DVB cards all in one...
