I am getting a constant "acquiring satellite" message. Is the system down or do I have an equipment problem?

It appears it has died. Tried rebooting (holding power button for over a minute), and unplugged it it for awhile. No response. Shows correct time; but nothing else. Anyone have any other suggestions, before I have to pack it up and send it back? :mad:

I lost my Bell coverage years ago; so now I have *Choice. Their 530 DVR only has a component connection. That has a better picture, than Dish, with a HDMI connection. It must be compression?

Does anyone know if NFL Sunday Ticket will be HD this year, on Star Choice? How can I find out? Their web site doesn't say. Don't want to make the same mistake I made last year.

I have *C connected with a component cable ( the only connection) and Dish connected with HDMI. The *C picture is much better. It rivals the OTA reception I get with local channels. Why? Do they use less compression? I don't think my eyes are playing tricks on me. :confused: Any experts...

OK. What does all that mean? Is *C cutting off the Eastern network feeds? Or are they changing them? :confused:

Thanks! That did reset it. I had tried to reboot like with Dish, turning the power off for 10 seconds. That did not help.

I couldn't see it until I opened the glass doors. There is a small green light, that looks like a sat. dish. Is that the signal light?

There is no signal light. Just the clock and the timer red light.

I have a *C HD DVR. This morning I set some up some recordings. Then went back to Dish. When I went back to *C, I have no picture. I rebooted the receiver (with no results). Receiver shows time and Red timer light; but no picture. Anyone have another idea? :confused:

Why would the IDIOT managements of Bell or S.C. kill off some of their revenue? Do they actually think preventing Canadians from access to US sat. service, will make up for all the money they would lose from the USA? What did the King say, "It is a puzzlement?" It really is STUPID!

That might be the answer. They're connected to a Sony 1080P.

I am curious what you guys, that have technical know how think. It appears to me, that the Star Choice picture connected by component, is slightly better than Dish connected by HDMI? :confused:

I have SC hd. I don't understand it; but some times I get Detroit and other times it says Rochester?????
