    Any Windows Phones Users Here?

We have a franchise store around here called CPR. Stands for Cell Phone Repair and they seem like good folks. Our daughter broke her iPhone 5s screen and it cost ~$90 bucks to replace the screen/glass and digitizer. Comes with a lifetime warranty (which isn't much risk for them considering...

You list reason after reason to probably go a different route, but it sounds like you're hell-bent on buying one no matter what.

    Any Windows Phones Users Here?

Two days ago, Verizon offered (3) Windows Mobile phones. Today, they offer (1). It's the Lumia 735 and the full retail price is $120.

Sounds like Microsoft's focus is making their Edge browser into an app replacement as much as possible 'cause companies aren't creating or supporting the actual apps.... The platform is dead and from what you're saying, relatively unsupported. I get that you have a Windows phone but preaching...

    Any Windows Phones Users Here?

I used Android for years and have an iPhone now. On both platforms, I was able to reduce notifications down to whatever level I liked. I haven't done it, but I could set them to NONE if chose to.

    Any Windows Phones Users Here?

I wouldn't suggest doing what everyone else is doing, but sometimes it's the wiser idea.... Just using Verizon as my example, they list (53) phones (and some tablets thrown in the mix) as available for regular purchase today. The OS breakdown is as follows: iOS - 14 Android - 28 Windows - 3...

If the idea of rooting your S3 and installing custom ROMs sounds like something you'd like to try, DO NOT INSTALL THIS UPDATE (directly).

FCC considers allowing cellphone calls on planes

and data. Almost sounds like they're going to "store" passenger's communications and send (and receive) in bursts every so often. Really no different than providing WiFi on planes. My daughter and I went to a movie yesterday, in fact, and were in the 2nd to last row. Once the movie started, I...

SD Slot & Removable Batery Discussion

The average person will NOT take their phone apart to replace a battery. Plus, for iPhone owners, how many have the required pentalobe screwdrivers ? I don't know what's involved in replacing a battery on phones like the HTC One or newer Motorola Droids. Just checked on the HTC One - same as the...

Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update starts rolling out officially, just as promised

With Apple, it's easy - they're long-time users have never had an SD card, so they're not missing anything. With Android phone makers, I have to suspect that their research shows that the average user made very little use of them and that an internal SD card was more than sufficient. I'm like...

Google knows every Wi-Fi password entered from an Android device

Anyone who has gotten a new phone or has done a factory reset and after logging in to Google, they're magically re-connected to any WiFi access points, should NOT be surprised. Hell, I knew they were saving these data 3+ years ago....

Yes, that will happen when the radio sucks and is constantly trying to pull in a signal. Fix one problem, the other goes away.

    HTC One release inching closer?

Wasn't there a promotion involving the DNA recently and speculation it was related to an upcoming phone's release (maybe the S4) ? Those phones are showing $199 and $49 (2-year contract) pricing for me - no closeout reference.

Verizon No Longer THE Carrier For Android Enthusiasts Handsets Show Up Late if They Show Up At All

I doubt it has anything to do with data usage and more to do with the number of DIFFERENT Android devices. Verizon has to "support" (that word entails more than just people calling in for technical help, mind you !) just (3) iPhones (4, 4s, and 5). Verizon currently SELLS (19) different Android...

    Thinking about upgrading my phone's

Google searches seem to indicate that it will work. Smartest thing to do is call Straight Talk and tell them what you want to do, i.e. bring a VZW iPhone to their network, and see what you need to do on your end to make it work.

Verizon offering HTC DROID DNA for free through May 21st

Check Amazon for the non-Apple devices when you're eligible. The S III was $29 two days ago and is $49 currently. At VZW, it's $99. I got my Thunderbolt through Amazon a couple of years ago - got a new unit with a 32gb SD card for less $$ than my wife got a refurbished T'bolt with 16gb card for.
