Best LNBF for 10 Foot Solid Dish

I use the BSC621 LNBF and it pegs the meter on some of the DVD-S2 8psk 30000 m/s signals. I do get some mild jerkiness on one of the channels sometimes but not the rest. I believe the receiver is underpowered instead of it being an LNBF problem.

Removing rusted polar mount from rusted pole?

tubosat, I know what you talking about when you mention loosen the bolts on the polar cap. I use to do my other dish that way. BUt with the new polar mount the polar cap is rusted to the pole. But the polar mount is still able to pivot east and west. I plan on using an old motor arm that doesn't...

Removing rusted polar mount from rusted pole?

Its been 7 days since I filled the hole back up with loose dirt. The pole does not move when I try to push it.:up I just now put the rest of the heavy mount on the pole and I am going to check in the morning and see if its still plum. Everything seems soild so far. I don't think the pole is...

Removing rusted polar mount from rusted pole?

Thats a good point. The hole that I dug back up was just dug about 3 days before. Thea hole was dug up by a backhoe and was twice as big as it should have been. By the time I dug the dirt back out of the hole there was only about six inchs of loose dirt around each side of the concrete. So I...

Removing rusted polar mount from rusted pole?

Instead of busting up the concrete I dug aroung it. Then I slowly turned the turn the pole and the mount around 90 degrees. So that problem is solved.

Removing rusted polar mount from rusted pole?

Well I have decided to just dig the pole and concrete up. If do that I can turn the pole and mount around in the right direction. Also I had the pole and mount to close to the house. I forgot how huge the dish would be  lol.The hole was just dug a few days ago. So the digging isn't as tough...

Removing rusted polar mount from rusted pole?

My true south is 83-84w. I can aim the mount in the azimuth direction of 99w and 97w easily but I was worried the elevation would be off by a few inchs up or down since the mount is turned 90 degress the wrong way. Everything on the mount is rusted and I don't know if I can ajust the elevation...

Removing rusted polar mount from rusted pole?

Looks like I am going to have to do something because I just put the mount(2nd part of mount that wasn't rusted on the pole) on the pole. It seems that the mount is tracking south to north I assume thats wrong. Instead of east to west. 1. Would it still be possible to get 99w and 97w with the...

Removing rusted polar mount from rusted pole?

Did try PB Blaster and it did not worked. But to be fair the pole and the bottom part of the monunt are fused toghter by rust. Thats the best way I can describe it. I called all the stores in my area and only one sells kroil but they were out of stock. I can always order it online but I am going...

    Weight of 10ft fiberglass dish?

Anole, I will post update about the rust removel in that other thread. I should have my dish up by today or tommorrow. Depening on the weather. The bracket that connects to the pole and the dish can be broken up in two parts. The bottom part is rusted to the pole and so far unmovable. The top...

    Weight of 10ft fiberglass dish?

The fiberglass dish I have is light weight especially after I took the back brace off that attaches to the pole. Not much heavier than the aluminum mesh dish I use to have. I am not kidding. I am beginning to think its not a fiberglass dish but it looks like one.

Removing rusted polar mount from rusted pole?

I just got a second hand C band dish and the poloar mount is rusted to the pole were the polar mount slips over the pole. Its rusted really bad and will not turn at all. I was wondering if there is any way to seperated them. I was thinking of using PB Blaster or Kroil. Would either of those two...

    Weight of 10ft fiberglass dish?

Update: I just went and picked up the fiberglass dish and brought it to my backyard. To my suprise it wasn't that heavy. The dish had most of the back brace on it also. It was heavier than an aluminm mesh dish but it wasn't much a problem like I though it might be. It was only me and a retired...

    Weight of 10ft fiberglass dish?

Anole, it looks more like the dish in the first link but in much better shape. Within the next day or so I am going to out and look at it again and do a string test. If its not warped I may just go for it. I haven't seen many dished around my area that are 10ft. I don't have any pictures of it.

    Weight of 10ft fiberglass dish?

    Weight of 10ft fiberglass dish?

The dish I have my eye on doesn't have any ribs. It has a big square rusted mount on it. How much would the mount add to the weight or should I remove it from the reflector when moving it.

    Weight of 10ft fiberglass dish?

I am not a %100 sure it is fiberglass. Looking at the back of the dish I can see fibers or something that looks like fibers under the white paint. It is a soild one piece dish thats for sure. I have had a mesh dish before and it was really easy for me to see warp in it and that was minor. If...

    Weight of 10ft fiberglass dish?

I spotted a 10ft fiberglass dish in someones yard. And the owner said I could have it. The dish doesn't looked warped. I have had a mesh 10 ft dish before and it wasn't that hard to handle with two people. But I hear the the fiberglass dishes are much heavier. Could two people of average...

    LyngSat Footprint map G19

The other day I was looking at the footprint maps on G19 and I didn't see a link to one. But today was the first time I noticed a link to a footprint link on G19. The map said G19 was at 42.1 EIRP dBW. Is that true?

FORTEC STAR FS08 and stationary ground mount

Thanks Sadoun. Thats good to know. I assume the holes would need to be drilled on the ribs sticking out the back of the dish if needed be. Or the circler metal attached to the back of the dish and maybe add some washers if the metal isn't thick enough for my polar mount. Well I guess need to...

FORTEC STAR FS08 and stationary ground mount

I don't see many of these 2.4 meter dishes for sale with the polar mount include. Most of them seem to just include a stationary ground mount and I assume this would be a pain to ghetto aim. I also assume if you got this dish it would only be make sense to leave it on only one satellite. Does...
