    2016 Rio Olympics

I just watched a 41 year old woman who has a 16 year old son competing in the vault. I'm impressed. A 41-year-old mother competing in her 7th Olympics as a gymnast has a surprising routine to keep in shape http://www.businessinsider.com/oksana-chusovitina-uzbekistan-gymnastics-2016-8

    NFL Play-Offs 2015-16

Hard to believe that only 3 years ago the Niners were sitting right where Carolina is now. They lost a winnable SB, although they weren't favored to, had a good defense and a young mobile QB who had a cannon for an arm. They also had an idiot owner and GM who didn't like the HC and figured that...

    NFL 2015-16 Season

Lucky my Niners caught the Vikes before AP got back into form. This team is starting to look like the ones back in the pre Bill Walsh era. I really think Tomsula is a great person but he's way out of his league where he is now. Remember York's words about responsibility and commitment to winning...

    Yogi Berra has passed away

It doesn't seem like that long ago that I watched Yankee games on a 12" RCA B&W TV. The main shot was from a camera up in the press box behind home plate so all you could see was the pitcher and the backs of the batter and umpire and #8 squatting behind the plate. RIP.

BUSTED! Deflategate: Pats deliberately did it!

It's stuff like this that keep strengthening my belief that the political and judicial establishment in this country is becoming more corrupt each day. WTF business does a Federal Judge have attending a party like this...

BUSTED! Deflategate: Pats deliberately did it!

I'm looking forward to watching how the referees call roughing and late hits on Brady this season, since he's one of the more reactionary QBs when it comes to bitching. I have a feeling that the NFL isn't done here, in or out of the courtroom.

    NASCAR 2015 season

I'm not ashamed to say that I'm a traditionalist and am happy that NA$CAR finally did something right bringing the Southern 500 back to Darlington this Labor Day Weekend.

    2014-15 NFL Play-Offs

I think the QBs get too much credit and blame, especially in SBs. Take Joe Montana - the Niners won SB 16 because of a great goal line stand and in SB 23, the play before Joe hit John Taylor with the winning TD he hit a Bengal DB in the chest, but he dropped it and the rest was history. One of...

    NFL 2015 OFF Season Thread

49ers 4- Get an owner. What egoistical morons the Yorks are. Jed recently said that his uncle, Eddie D, made bad decisions choosing staff and he's right. Joe Thomas, and he lasted 2 years. These idiots had a 10 year track record of incompetency before the Harbaugh era and it looks like they're...

Jeff Gordon Announces 2015 to be last year as full time driver

Doesn't he own part of Jimmy Johnson's team or car? I think I remember Mr Hendrick giving it to him as an incentive to stay at Hendrick's Motorsports several years ago.

    Mr Cub Ernie Banks died

RIP! I saw him hit the shortest 2 bagger I remember in 1955 at Connie Mack Stadium. He hit a high popup that landed right behind the mound and the entire Phillies infield said "you got it".

Break up the Big 10!!! Way to go Bucks. I also don't hate Urban Meyer so much anymore. I wasn't aware of his Ohio upbringing so he's not the carpetbagger that I thought he was.

    2014-15 NFL Play-Offs

The NFL has had the rule that an eligible offensive lineman (tackle eligible) report in and the officials inform the defense (and the fans) during the 50 years that I've been watching pro football. I remember Bert Bell, former commissioner, saying that the rule was put in to make it easier for...

    2014-15 NFL Play-Offs

I don't have a team in the final 4 so I kind of root for the team I hate the least. It was the Patriots prior to Belichik's shady but legal use of ineligible receivers, compounded by Brady declaring that the Ravens "should have read the rule book". Now, God forbid, I've shifted it to the Packers...

    2014-15 NFL Play-Offs

I think I remember the play. If it's the play in question Suh lined up on the right edge of the DL and was literally tackled and forced behind Romo. It stood out to me because it happened on the side where the umpire should have had a clear view of it.

    2014-15 NFL Play-Offs

The only negative thing I can say is that Caldwell should have gone for it on 4th and 1 after the pickup of the flag. I was hoping they would. Dallas had offensive momentum for the whole quarter and I don't think the Detroit D could have held them even if the punt was good.
