Well, not a bad game! (Or should I say half-game :)) An even match-up as expected.
Though, we certainly hoped for more goals from both sides and more action from the stars.

Thanks to everyone who joined us today for our traditional live game mini-chat.
Keep an eye on schedule updates, and see you next time!

I missed the game. I'll have to watch the encore presentation. All my sports today I missed. :( there's always next week.
S
From Paul:

If it's any consolation the second half was much better than the first.

Atletico stopped Barca playing their normal game and first 45 mins were a bit scrappy. Actually the game got better as it progressed.

Barca probably deserved to win as they had the best chances through the 90 mins, but Atletico looked mush better organised that last season and i think a top 6 finish is likely for them

Ronaldinho didnt have his best game. if that had been the case, i think Barca would have won easily.

Larssen . the number 7 looks a great signing for the Catalans, He will score a lot of goals.

Finally late news: looks like Camacho is resigning after only 3 games as R Madrid coach: rumours are he is fed up of the players!!!!!!!

See you all Thursday PAUL
S
Hopefully the Encore Presentation will be tonight at 8pm EDT.

Camacho leaves Madrid - Sid's thoughts...

Nothing lasts forever. Especially not Real Madrid manager José Antonio Camacho. Just three games into the season, the man with the famously sweaty pits, the soothing presence of a rhino in a playground, and an obsession with 'huevos', or balls, has quit in a huff. Again.
He lasted 115 days. Which really isn't very good, although it is slightly better than his last stint as coach at the Bernabéu, when he managed to walk out after 23 and without taking charge for a single match. The first time, Camacho walked because the then president Lorenzo Sanz wouldn't let him chose his own back-room staff; this time it's not just the president but the players too who are the problem.

After long conversations with Raúl, Helguera, Míchel Salgado and Roberto Carlos (but not, noticeably, the ever-petulant Guti, one of the club's captains), Camacho resigned yesterday, insisting that he couldn't take it any more, that he could not control the dressing-room, that he had lost the support of the club heavyweights.

Pérez refused to accept and a final decision will be made today, but it's hard to see Camacho, as stubborn as a mule with his feet nailed to the floor, backing down now. All the more so as everyone knows about it - as straight down the line as Daniella Westbrook, Camacho's not the kind of bloke to lose face. Nor, though, is Pérez.

Now, the Spanish press like nothing more than a good old crisis, as gratuitously inflated as a bright orange balloon emblazoned with David Mellor's grinning mug, but this time it's true: Madrid are in crisis. A proper crisis. A real crisis. A galactic one.

They were rubbish but lucky 1-0 winners in their opening two league games against relegation candidates Numancia and Mallorca and weren't just beaten but utterly humiliated by Bayer Leverkusen in Europe - a performance so bad that Diego Maradona called them "a bunch of dogs". And then on Saturday night came the final straw. Madrid lost 1-0 against Espanyol at Montjuic with a display of slapstick genius that also managed to sum up so much of what's wrong.

It had everything. Two red cards, for Walter Samuel and Míchel Salgado; first-choice goalkeeper Iker Casillas getting injured in the warm-up; reserve keeper César Sánchez saving Raúl Tamudo's penalty - twice - before getting injured himself; a penalty miss from Ronaldo; Roberto Carlos bombing about aimlessly up front; Guti telling the fourth official he's a "son of a bitch and a clown"; and no sign whatsoever of a reaction, or any football, from Madrid.

Oh, and four galácticos missing. Which rather says it all. With Luis Figo and Zinedine Zidane already injured, Camacho responded to the Champions League disaster in classic, subtle style - by dropping David Beckham and, at last, captain Raúl.

It was a powerful, aggressive statement of intent from a man disgusted with the attitude of his players, the galáctico culture and the way the club is run. But it was also, at long last a capitulation in the face of pressure from within and without to drop the untouchable yet frankly awful Raúl. It was, said AS on Saturday morning, a revolution. But it didn't work.

"When you thump a fist on the desk you either break the desk or you break your hand, nothing else happens," said Roberto Carlos, really saying it all about Camacho's attitude and the players' reading of him. A bruiser and a bully, Camacho is not the right man for the job, unable to control the hardest thing to control at Madrid - the dressing-room.

Which is a bit of a downer, what with that being precisely why Pérez brought Camacho in - his third coach in as many seasons, a record that even Jesús Gil would be proud of. First Pérez got rid of Vicente Del Bosque because he was cuddly, had a brilliant moustache and was the son of a railway trade unionist ("not modern enough", ran the official reason). Then, he opted for, and made a scapegoat of, Carlos Queiroz when Madrid achieved nothing (except a great new club record of five successive defeats, of course).

Never mind that the squad was too short, that Queiroz pleaded for a centre-back and a defensive midfielder, or that he wasn't allowed to play Celades, who left, or Cambiasso, who didn't but might as well have done. No, it was all Queiroz's fault. He was too soft, too permissive of the capricious galácticos.

Not to worry, fans' favourite Camacho would sort them out (even if Pérez did buy him Owen when he wanted Vieira). A tough-tackling Madrid legend with a foul mouth and a pair of 'huevos' the size of the Bernabéu, famous for marking Johan Cruyff out of his first derbi, was brought in to provide some discipline, to make the galácticos sweat almost as profusely as he does. Squat, ugly, far from refined, he was the very antithesis of galáctico - and that was what Madrid needed.

Only it wasn't. Camacho has walked into a special environment, already rarified by galactically myopic Pérez's marketing-obsessed handling of the club, which causes division and resentment and has left some big-name stars and smaller-name-but-no-less-important players longing to leave. Camacho resents his president's impositions and has found himself unable to handle the dressing-room. Rather than unite his players, his bulldozing style, big mouth and rather unsubtle training regime has served only to divide.

His constant outbursts against "pointless fancy flicks" have irritated Zidane; his complaints over lack of effort have got backs up, as have his very public harangues; his substitutions of Figo and Ronaldo, while leaving Raúl on (in central midfield!), have caused resentment and whispers of favourable treatment for his captain; and while there is perspiration now, there is little inspiration - Madrid have scored just twice in four games, with Roberto Carlos privately complaining that he is no longer allowed to attack.

Camacho is a motivator but he has all the technical and tactical insight of a lump of plywood. Which is all well and good if your players are that talented. But when you lose the ability to motivate it is, as Camacho has admitted, time to walk

Now right up front....this is NOT intended to devolve into a "pot is good" vs "pot is bad" thread. The whole point is to make you aware of a potential problem that a person can develop when they start smoking pot at a young age. Not that they WILL, but CAN. Kinda like getting lung cancer from smoking cigs....some do, some don't. The purpose of posting this news story is to keep anyone from paying an outrageous emergency room bill......knowledge is power.
While this may not affect you, you might run into someone who is experiencing these symptoms and can share the info. Fortunately, it looks like stopping smoking is the cure and isn't a permanent condition.

Love this guy's channel. Looks like Walmart has thrown in the towel when it comes to conventional car batteries.

I bought a new AGM battery from Walmart about a year ago, it is already needing replacing. I thought about just buying a regular battery but from what I've read, that might not be a smart move. Might check my Forscan program and see if I can change the battery type from AGM.

When you need a battery, you need a battery.

If you can wait, new technologies are on the not-too-distant horizon.

You're probably doing something wrong if you're only getting a year out of an AGM battery. Heat and infrequent charging both significantly reduce lifetime.

Season 2 order already in hand:

'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy' Renewed for Season 2, Tatiana Maslany to Guest Star in Season 1

I've not been optimistic about this show based on what I've read so far. Seems to be aimed at a younger audience. Interesting though that Tatiana Maslany will have some sort of role.

I'm sure I will watch at least the first episode but I am not optimistic.
Here i am over a year later and just finished season 1. Not great but not as bad as I was expecting. Did not care for the barefoot captain stuff but overall ok. Actually looking forward to see what they did for season 2.

Yeah, the foot stuff was just nasty. I kept thinking of how dirty her feet would get traipsing around shoe-less. Funny, I love being shoe less at home and never wear shoes indoors in my home for long, but seeing her laying on all her furniture with her bare feet hanging out just kind of grossed me out.

There would still be dirt ,dust in the future I am sure. So walking around the station like she did she would get stuff on her feet. I am sure the robot vacuum is still going to miss stuff, with all those different alien species running around there.

I don't know, but I still don't like her walking through the station or the academy with out her shoes. It looks unprofessional and very "hippy like" for someone of her status and I personally don't get off to feet, so there is that. ;)

I set up a music server for my brother a few years ago. It's basically a small headless computer but it needs to have a DHCP IP address reserved for it in the router settings. This was easy to do in his DSL router. He's switching to Starlink now and I was wondering if these setting are easily accessible in the Starlink router. I'm pretty sure he will be getting the latest V5 router.

If you can't get into the router to reserve an IP address just don't use DHCP on the device that needs connected and assign it to a specific IP address in the network settings.

They are not. Your best bet is to set up a third-party router, attached to the Starlink for your server, that you can get into, like a Linksys, etc

The Starlink V5 Install Kit I just got comes with the Mini Router. It is pretty limited in what it can do. For example, it can provide only one IP subnet at a time, no Guest Network, but it does support the pass-thru to a third-party Router. You can also split the Wi-Fi into separate 5 GHz & 2.4 GHz SSIDs to help some IoT devices that don't support 5 GHz bands to work.

The larger Starlink Router that still comes with the V4 Kit does support a Guest Network with separate IPv4 Subnet, but it's $120 from Starlink. And it still won't do DHCP Reservations.
harshness
If you can restrict the DHCP address space to assign addresses to one end of the subnet (i.e. x.x.x.50+), you can manually assign the IP address on pretty much any operating system. This is a default behavior on several popular routers. As the Router Mini only supports 235 devices, I expect that's already done.

Another option is to use a router that supports PoE to power the antenna. This article discusses that option (under PoE Power heading):

Well, the season finale went balls to the wall. Non stop action and several twisted twists. Gary Oldman at his best. Very well written and executed. Tavener owes Jackson big time. Only "if" was Jack Lowden's (River) cliffhanger, especially admin-st the buzz that he is the next James Bond in waiting.

Hear, hear! Flyte was probably the most competent character in the show. We were also sad to see Coe come up short against the Russian operative.

Still some uncertainty about the last five minutes. The line from Lamb about "faking one's death" gives us something to think about until the next season.

Didn't see a thread like this so I figured why not start one. This is about natural supplements. If you aren't into supplements, fine, but please let those of us who do want to discuss this discuss it.

The first one I wanted to mention has been a real life changer. I'm 62 and still do all of my own install work at my business....also do all the yard work at the house. A few years ago I started noticing that I was losing my range of movement, it was even getting hard to bend over and lace up my boots. Almost got stuck in an attic because I couldn't get turned around once the work was done. Didn't think much of it and figured with age comes stiffness that was only going to get worse as time went on.
It was then that I stumbled across a video which was discussing rotator cuff tears and why they were to prevalent these days. Turns out, the culprit is a simple deficiency in MANGANESE which is key in keeping your tendons flexible. Most anti-biotics strip your body of any manganese it might have had which is why certain anti-biotics, especially those in the Cipro family. I actually knew a man who had two tendons tear while on that stuff.
Went to Amazon and ordered some manganese. Now it took a while, it wasn't instant, but gradually I have regained all of my flexibility. I can bend over and touch my toes while standing with no pain and putting on my boots is no longer a chore.
Pretty cheap too. The bottle I ordered was a 200 ct for under $13. They said to take double the normal dose for the first month because most people are severely lacking, then go to one a day.

Chia Seeds
Kinda the whole idea is to mention something and explain WHY it is something we might want to add to our daily routine.
This is what I got from google. Looks like I'm going to be adding them, thanks

Key Health Benefits
    • Digestive Health: One ounce (28 grams) of chia seeds provides nearly 10 grams of fiber, which promotes regular bowel movements, feeds beneficial gut bacteria, and helps prevent constipation. [1, 2]
    • Heart and Cardiovascular Support: Rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)—an essential plant-based omega-3 fatty acid—chia seeds can help lower blood pressure, reduce triglycerides, and improve cholesterol profiles. [1, 2, 3]
    • Blood Sugar Regulation: The combination of soluble fiber and protein slows down carbohydrate digestion, preventing sharp blood sugar spikes after meals. [1, 2]
    • Weight Management: When soaked in liquid, chia seeds absorb up to 10 to 12 times their weight in water. The resulting gel expands in the stomach, increasing feelings of fullness and curbing appetite. [1, 2, 3]
    • Bone Strength: They contain high levels of calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, which are vital for maintaining bone density. [1, 2, 3]
    • Antioxidant Protection: Compounds like chlorogenic acid and caffeic acid help fight cellular damage from free radicals and reduce chronic inflammation. [1, 2, 3]

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....
