It was announced about a month ago that a ham radio and scanner forums was going to be added to the site. Just wondering if there was any update as to when they'll launch?

Scott if you need a mod per se to run it I dont have an issue being the mod assigned to it.

Ice, Are you a ham radio op? If so what's your call sign? Mine Is Kilo Niner Sierra Alpha Tango (K9SAT) I think for the ham radio forum's the mods should have a callsign, (right of passage of going through the testing process) After all how are you going to tell a guy he's wrong about Digipeating and the messaging processes if you don't know what its about. There is alot to learn in this area as Ham radio is very very diverse, much more that Free to Air!

3rd...gee I didnt know I HAD to know about ham radio to be a mod. Don't know what the hell the last part of your post (the jab at FTA) is for. Most staff here don't need to say "oh so and so is right". Its more of making sure there is no flaming on posts, combine threads etc. Most staff crosses the whole site. Other mods go and take care of reported posts in the FTA area if I'm not around.

I dont certainty ever remember there being a ham radio forum here in the past five years that I have been here! Looking at this thread obviously there are requests for it. So why not give it another shot if indeed there was one before!
I only suggested that the moderator of the ham radio forum be one for common ground as there is alot to ham radio. Ice, please dont let your personal convictions take place of a good topic. After all If I suggest anything your jumping down my throat. And if thats the way you are acting towards me, I can only imagine why no one would want to be in our ham radio forum. Especially if you know nothing about the topic. Who are you to say what goes on in the ham radio forum, It has yet to be decided what goes on in there and not only that, I dont see anyone telling you how to run your area of this site! So why should you do the same to others. Its very hypocritical!
Also, I wasn't making a jab about Free to air, its a known fact that there is much more to ham radio than free to air, but then again you dont know because you dont have your ticket (aka callsign) So please, dont take it as a jab as its not. I know that you dont know because you wouldn't of said what you said if you knew.
I want the best for all of our satguy hams thats out there and if thats too much for you, im sorry I dont know what to say. How about this, Why not let me run with it and Ill teach you everything you need to know from foxhunting to Dxing! Hell we might even find common ground. I dont know of any other hobby where you can littarlly bounce signals off of the moon to talk to someone halfway across the world (and you dont even need to do that)
You could learn alot and realize there is much more to learn as ham radio is a very good hobby (up there with FTA) :up So chilax. Having a ticket for the ham radio moderators is a good thing, in fact every major ham radio site requires it! If you dont have your ticket they wont give you the time of the day because with your licence that the FCC gives you, it comes with special privileges! You have no idea what those privelages are until you earn them via your licence category.
So lets get that Signal to Noise ratio down a bit and learn about how fun it is to go on a foxhunt or what its like to get that first contact. Feild day is coming up, I invite you to go to your local ham radio club and learn what its all about. They should have a gota station up (get on the air) No license is required for it, as long as there is a license ham around. Once you make that first contact your hooked for life!

I figured it would be one but if Scott feels the need for two forums then thats fine. Maybe start it as one and if two are needed (like when the C-Band area and 4DTV broke off into 2 forums) then break it offIt was my understanding that the ham radio and scanner forums were two separate forums!
there was a ham forum a long time ago...maybe 4-5 years ago (maybe 6 I forget). It didnt have much traffic so it was closed out

Funny how you are supposedly putting words in my mouth when all I posted originally is "Scott if you need a mod for that area I can help out" and then you start attacking me. Please post where I was saying how to run the forum.

Cband and 4DTV are very similar topics, Ham radio and Scanners are completely diffrent topics. The only common trending is you can listen to ham radio on a scanner. But with ham radio there are multiple topics that have nothing to do with scanners.
4-6 years is a long time to not revisit a topic. Its like posting in a uverse forum 4 years ago when Uverse was non existent.

Iceberg I never attacked you, and you perceived it as such, infact with alot of my posts when ever they are directed twards your general line of area, you allways are the one to take it the wrong way. I dont know what it is, but with you (your the only one) that seems to take things wrong. Looking at my OP, I asked you if you were a ham radio op, and gave you my call sign. If you were, I was going to see about hooking up with you on Echolink. Its a very common thing to exchange call signs like that, and with you not knowing it, its not putting words into your mouth, its common knowledge that one should know as a ham radio op. I then suggested that ham radio forum should have moderators that have their tickets and gave an example of a situation where the moderator should have direct knowledge of the subject they are moderating over. Just like you have direct knowledge of FTA, Rocky has direct knowledge of dish, ect.
I cant help it if you perceive the message as such of an attack, because anyone who knows any little bit about ham radio knows that wasn't a direct attack
There is a difference between calling you a dirt bag (thats an attack - only used as an example) and posting what I posted. I cant fix stupid and if only you perceive it like an attack because you dont like me, when reality is much different there isnt nothing I can do about that. But being a Moderator here you should show great care about what is posted here and what you show to the public and our site sponsors. I know im the one to talk because of my past, Yea I screwed up but I learned my lesson. Is there anything I can do to change the past, nope, only the future. So please, do take great care before jumping on any member who is not a hacker! You have to be 100 percent positive what was said was the message intent! After this message I will be effectively walking away and going to bed! Why? Cause there's no more need to be discussing an attack that was never there.

Yea that's cool and look at that price. Only thing I did not like about the Pro-34 was the scanning speed (6ch/sec) so by upgrading the proper crystal you would scan just as fast as the Pro-37. Also by removing a Diode you would open up the 800Mhz band with no gaps which was fun at the time .. shhhhhh lol

For quite a while now, people with a VIP211k have been losing their recordings on their activated external HDDs... even when there's nothing physically wrong with HDD. I believe this is an intentional and underhanded tactic that Dish is pulling in an attempt to force users away from the VIP211k.
They are obviously regretting that they ever let users have a "non-dvr" dvr in the first place. You would think they would be happy charging you a $40 one time fee... and then be happy letting the customer be the one responsible for HDD failures.
Dish clearly hates the 211k bitter-clingers. This recording deletion problem is intentional (IMO), and I think it is just one more tool that they are using. Hopper and a 2-year agreement... that's what they want you to have. Think about that... a 2-year agreement... with a company $30 Billion in debt (that's with a B). What happens when all that debt causes them to drop the channel that may have been your whole reason for having Dish in the first place? Guess who's stuck with a service that no longer suits their needs... for the remainder of the 2-year agreement.
On top of that, they don't want you to install it yourself. I purchased and installed all my equipment myself. That used to be common. Now, they lie to me and tell me that my dish must be updated to use a Hopper. Funny thing is... they don't even know what dish I have because they didn't install it, and I didn't tell them. If you ask what type of dish/LNBs the hopper needs... good luck getting an answer. All they know is that whatever you have needs to be upgraded by an installer.
It is quite apparent to me that they care much more about staying in their box, than they do working with the customer. That's too bad, because it hasn't always been that way. It's like they are totally unaware of the current business environment that they are trying to compete in.
I have been a customer since 2010. I will be cancelling my service before the next period. Yeah, I know, my $1,200 a year won't make a difference to them. It just seems like they have forgotten who needs who, especially when you consider the competition in today's streaming world. But hey, they will have succeed in forcing me off the 211k.

Has anyone subscribed to NBA League Pass for 2026-27 and try to link their account to NBA.com to stream League Pass? I purchased it for 2026-27, and when I linked, I got a message saying success, but then I receive an error that my linked subscription does not include the preseason games for NBA League Pass. Is that how it has always been? I know satellite doesn't have the preseason games on the NBA League Pass channels, but I thought that I was able to stream the preseason once I linked my account on NBA.com?

For some reason, the satelliteguys.us site is loading a lot slower than usual on both Chrome on my Asus laptop and Safari on my iPhone.
I'm also seeing longer appearances of the blue bar at the top and the "3 blue bars" loading symbol.
Is anyone else also having the same problem? Thanks in advance.

I thought I would come here and find lots of complaints about the update to the dish anywhere mobile app, but am not seeing any. It used to look just like the desktop webpage. Now you can no longer filter by sports channels or movie channels. Plus that they made it look like a big button telephone and you see fewer channels in the screen which requires more scrolling. Yes I realize you can look at sports then select which sport you want to look at, I just liked being able to see all sporting events in the guide with all other channels being filtered out. Am I alone in the wilderness on this?

Not for me, mines has no mention of how long aka the offer period and the Terms and conditions the $0.00 is good for. All I see is one can lose $5.00 if you decide to remove it before day 31 after you add it to the account.
You have a different offer that is free for a shorter timeframe which is different than the one that I and bnewt saw without defining the promotion period as I sent the question to DISH Care via Facebook Messenger and this is the response I got back 20 minutes ago.
