?Boy, do I need a manual or a lot of help!I bought one of the original paraclipse 12 ft classic antennas with the standard Polar T linear actuator drive. It performed without missing a lick until I took it down and completely disassembled it for a long distance move with a moving van with similar items taped together and wrapped with moving quilts. I used a couple of pieces of masonite to protect the panels and keep them flat. Everything arrived safely 1200 miles away. The dish was moved again for a few miles, then moved again to the final destination in central Texas. I can't inventory all of the parts, because of not having a list of material, but from memory, it looks like everything is here and undamaged although it has been 19 years since it was disassembled for the original move.
This version does not have any grooves in the ribs for the mesh to slide in and instead uses wire U clips to go across the ribs to hold the panels in place at the ribs. I also remember that this version assembles the mesh panels differently then some of the others because of the method used to hold the panels to the ribs. I did download a manual for a later version that uses the wonderful Horizon to Horizon actuator, but a lot of things are quite different on the polar T version. I also replaced the button hook with the factory 4 pole LNB mount kit.
Fortunately, I bought a new package of j clips, which I unpacked after 19 years of storage. There are lots of J clips, but no U clips. Since the J clips are made from .045 aluminum wire (probably welding wire), I assume this is the best choice for the U clips but not the cheapest since the wire comes in huge spools!
I was so happy that they included two Deldrin washers (.120 thick and .125 thick), although the original had a single machined nylon washer and I am not sure where two washers go. The Polar T actually pivots the entire antenna on a single 3/4 inch bolt that fits in two bronze bushings (that probably need to be greased when assembled again). The 3/4 inch bolt then fits through two holes in an offset C bracket that bolts to the rear hub.
The C Bracket had an 1/8 inch aluminum shim at the top to further space it from the rear hub probably to set the declination angle. They sent me two more of these, one was .059 thick aluminum, and the other was .030 thick plastic. I have no idea which one(s) I need to use. I am about 1 degree latitude further South now that at the original location. ( I can calculate the required shim for the declination angle, if it is not listed in the manual)
I found a place that sells 3.5 inch od pipe for $2.95/foot and I believe it will take about 7 1/2 feet. A lot of rock in the soil, so will dig the hole BEFORE I go buy the pipe and hopefully, will be able to buy it Monday.
I have a place cleared in the barn and the basic pieces laid out for assembly. I plan to guess at the correct bolt sizes and lengths and do a loose assembly.
Boy, do I need a manual! If anyone has one, please let me know and I would be glad to pay for the postage, scan it, and return it to you.

Update of 16 ft Paraclipse dish Installation
Couldn't dig a hole 5 ft deep!!!!! Used tractor augar to dig to solid rock at 3 ft, used 70# jackhammer and it just jumped up and down on the solid granite rock!!!! Enlarged hole significantly at bottom, welded piece of angle iron to pipe, cut off six inches so had 4.5 feet sticking out of ground, and poured concrete! Took 3 of us to set the dish up and bolt it in place after it was fully assembled.
Had to make about 100 of the U clips out of aluminum welding wire. Still have the last small panel to install and a few more U clips to tie the last two panels together. This photo was taken with the antenna on the ground and facing NW without LNB. Had to borrow my wife's iPad to photograph the satellite arc superimposed on the dish at its final location.
Hopefully a few more days, the system should be working.

Well the system worked for a while, until the Monster Motor 24 inch actuator (1 5/8 inch diameter) got a little gust of wind! Even though it was listed for up to 12 foot dish, the clamp on the actuator could not hold the actuator and prevent it from slipping (even with rubber in the clamp). Back to full size (2 inch diameter) actuators.
That's not looking good!
The inability of the clamp to hold, no matter how tightly bolted down or with rubber lining, was the major contributor to the failure. At least now I know why Paraclipse added a safety cable to later production units. Wish I knew the dimensions of it and I would make one for mine. It looks like it keeps the dish from flopping even if the actuator clamp slips! Most of the import items today have absolutely no specifications for them and buyer beware is the guarantee! I actually had radiator type clamps on both sides of the actuator clamp, and that didn't help either.
The new curated multiview is now live.

To each there own but I've found that Windows can't do much more than Linux can. Can't have everything.
For niche use cases, yes I agree. Kali for ethical hacking and security testing, and running a Cacti server for network monitoring are the two things I have experience in. Plus thousands and thousands of other things, but for every day use I just can't see it. The owner of the GMRS repeater that I pay to access is changing the Tx DPL tones tomorrow, while Chirp is available on Linux, the software to program my MXT500 is not.To each there own but I've found that Windows can't do much more than Linux can. Can't have everything.
I run Fedora and Ubuntu in VMWare, honestly I don't care much for the UI of either of them and I don't feel like spending days/weeks to customize the UI to make it look Windows-like when I could just use Windows. The cartoonish dock at the bottom of the screen reminds me of Apple products.
For some reason, the satelliteguys.us site is loading a lot slower than usual on both Chrome on my Asus laptop and Safari on my iPhone.
I'm also seeing longer appearances of the blue bar at the top and the "3 blue bars" loading symbol.
Is anyone else also having the same problem? Thanks in advance.

Not for me, mines has no mention of how long aka the offer period and the Terms and conditions the $0.00 is good for. All I see is one can lose $5.00 if you decide to remove it before day 31 after you add it to the account.

Help, I'm a little confjused on the activation process.
I purchased the Joey 4 from Solid Signal and shipping box has Call 866 726-4282 to Avtivate new Receiver. That number is Solid Signals number.
I googled and that search said call Dish to activate. I assume that is correct unless this requires a 2 step process.
Please let me know.

i bought mine straight from dish as it was only $ 100.00 bucks!!! had the protection plan they came out removed and deactivated the 4k joey and activated and installed the joey 4.All good called Dish and new Joey 4 is activated and working.
