Let's face it, there is a lot of bad stuff going on these days. However, I'm kindling a few smoldering embers of hope in humanity. Lets use this thread to capture random acts of kindness that you witness while out in the world. It can be something little or it can be large. It can be something that you do or something that you observe.
I'll start.
I went to Costco today. I don't usually go on the weekend because of the insane crowds. Although it always seems crowded regardless of the day or time. I had to park pretty far away from the front door. On my trek across the parking lot I noticed an elderly lady struggling to get her purchases into the trunk of her car. I observed several groups of people mindlessly walk past her and not offer assistance. I think I even saw one teenage kid laugh at her struggles and keep walking. Bear in mind it's hot too. We've been in the high 90's low 100's for the last couple of weeks. Standing on the blacktop in the parking lot seems a lot hotter. Anyway I quickened the pace and asked if I could help. The look of relief on the woman's face was priceless. It took me less than 30 seconds of my time to unload her cart into the trunk. It was no big sacrifice for me but I feel it mattered a great deal to her. As a bonus it made me feel good.
I'm sure that there are hundred of little stories like this that you SatelliteGuys can share. Let's keep this going.

We have separate curbside recycling in my neighborhood. But due to the automated pickup mechanism you aren't supposed to put glass in the bin. So, I put my glass waste in a box and bring it to a recycling center. 
One day I noticed that there was an old black man with white hair picking through the mixed recycling for aluminum. I'm not sure if he is homeless or just poor. After seeing this I started crushing my aluminum cans and placing them in a separate box. Then when I make my glass run I give my cans to the gentleman whose name I found out was Curtis. One day Curtis was looking in the box I gave him and he said, "you like the good beer I see." I said that I did and asked him if he enjoyed a cold beer on occasion. He said he did. My recycling run changed again. Now I bring Curtis, my scrap aluminum, two cans of beer and a big bottle of water. You should see him smile when he sees my truck pull up.

He was a good man, I'm going to miss him.

Can't help but wonder if a worker overlooked checking the harness. I rarely ride a roller coaster anymore but when I do I check the harness myself pretty aggressively.

It makes sense, however, I would want more types of restraints, so if one doesn't work, the other does ... the restraints coming over the shoulder I would have expected ... with a Seat belt as last resort.
Fwiw, I inquired with what they use on Coasters at Cedar Point, various Coasters, different restraints according to what the car and track requires ...
NONE of the Coasters at CP use THAT particular system

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this. Just had a customer come in inquiring about internet. He has HughesNet and had heard good things about mine. He asked if we provided email addresses and it kinda caught me off guard. I said he should be able to keep whatever email he had been using....my sister in law is still using a BellSouth email addy and they haven't been around here for many years. He said he had gotten a letter from HughesNet stating that they had until Nov 16th to save, move, forward, whatever, their Hughesnet emails because they would lose them after that date.
I have never heard of a company simply mass-deleting email accounts (the customer still has his HughesNet service). From what I understand, in the past, the company who was ditching their email service simply sold the customer base to a company like Google.
Anyone else getting this letter. He said he would show it to me tomorrow when I go out there and set up his internet.

For some reason, the satelliteguys.us site is loading a lot slower than usual on both Chrome on my Asus laptop and Safari on my iPhone.
I'm also seeing longer appearances of the blue bar at the top and the "3 blue bars" loading symbol.
