Picked up a GTMedia GTX Combo receiver from Ebay for $135 + tax. The unit is built on the Android platform and features a satellite tuner and a separate OTA tuner.
First off: the OTA tuner scans in VHF frequencies, but won't scan in UHF for some reason. Not sure why, it is possible we are doing something wrong. We were able to tune all VHF signals with no issues. PSIP guide data populates in the EPG.
Satellite tuner is as sensitive (or slightly more sensitive) as the GTMedia V9, however it took a long time to lock WPR and would not scan in WPR channels.
The big selling point for this receiver is its purported ability to natively decode and display 4:2:2 feeds, which it does. HOWEVER, depending on the signal modulation, the output quality varies. For instance, a DVB-S2 h264 4:2:2 signal plays just fine with no buffering or breakups, but a DVB-S2 HEVC 32APSK 4:2:2 feed displays some stuttering and drop-out's. The box really struggled with the ABC DVB-S2X feeds.
I highly recommend disabling any Android bloatware that comes with the box including Youtube and Netflix, as it slows down performance.
The menus take some getting used to and you will need to make adjustments in order to display channel lists the way you're used to.
I have tested streaming capability and can confirm it works with the iPhone GTShare app. I have not yet tried streaming from M3U files on my computer, although streaming to PC should work well since the GTX has a gig ethernet port and dual band WIFI.
The box has the usual occasional GTMedia hardware issues where it will lock up and you need to reboot.
Overall, it is exciting to experience a raw 4:2:2 video feed displayed directly from a consumer appliance without the need for a computer in between (or an expensive commercial receiver).
Here are some screenshots (push and hold the Power button to take screenshots, like other Android boxes). I really like the way the unit displays signal modulation properties and bitrates.
Any other questions or tests you'd like me to throw at it, just ask! Could really use some help figuring out how to get it to tune UHF.

Just a couple things to keep in mind,
Be sure to turn LNB power "off" on the slave receivers
Also, the slave receivers will only "see" the polarity V or H that the master receiver is currently tuned to
The splitter works great, we use the V9 as the master for KU and have an Amiko, Edision and Tandberg as slave receivers

I have had good experiences with Brave but lately I am frustrated with it.
Now when I launch the app it shows a box at the bottom asking if I want to go back to the last opened page. It is in conveniently located and I would prefer to eliminate it.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Please let's not sidetrack the discussion into an exploration of why I don't care for it or a lecture about all the wonderful aspects of the feature. I just do not care for it.

I don't have an Android phone so I don't know if this will apply to the Brave settings on your android device but it works on the desktop for me.
Change this setting to either startup to a different website or a new tab page. I have mine set to open to google.com instead of where I left off and it doesn't ask me at the next startup if I want to open the last opened page unless it crashed.

Due to security concerns and the fact that the Tapatalk Plugin for Xenforo is no longer being updated we have removed Tapatalk support from SatelliteGuys.
For those who were using it we recommend using our PWA App instead which is faster and does not have all the spam Tapatalk had. Below is a graphic showing how to add SatelliteGuys to your devices home screen. (While iOS is shown the process is mostly the same for Android.)

Actually, PWA stands for "Progressive Web Application" and is basically just saving a site's homepage to your desktop where it appears as an "App" with the rest of your smartphone's Apps.
New low power station has been granted by the FCC and the new call leter is K33OB-D on RF ch. 33.
Will run at 15 KW ERP, this one runs from the Westside same location as KWPL-LD a HC2 owned station.
It's going to be aimed at eastern part of Albuquerque, so it's tightly focused beam pattern.
This new station is owned by Digital Network and what kind of programmings is unkown at this time.

Yeah, there are some diginets like Heartland, Retro, The Family Channel diginetworks that we already have here in this market and we don't need duplicates, but bring the new diginets on like the Rev'n, Karate Acton movies, different kind of music videos on the new station.
