Hi all, today I managed to capture with a single 85 cm Dish both Telstar 12 at 15W and Express AM8 at 14W and I noticed that on 14W the russian channel RTR-Planeta has the Subtitle and the Teletext flags light up or ON. When I press subtitle I see the option to select Russian (T) with the T indicating subtitles are available via Teletext service.
The problem is it does not seem to work and I have waited to try like 3 different shows because maybe not all has subtitle. On Hispasat I remember TVE from Spain does show Subtitles and it says Spanish (S) with the S indicating that subtitles are available via the subtitle service.
I even went to the settings menu and set Russian as the language for Subtitles to no availability I mean it still don't show the subtitles.
As per IA Gemini when I press the red green key on the Azbox remote for Teletext it indeed goes to the black screen but it only shows 100 in a blue rectangle and beside it another 100 in a red rectangle. As per IA I am supposed to enter either 888 or 777 for the subtitle pages but it does nothing really and the worst is that it gets stuck on that black Teletext screen and I cant find a way to exit teletext mode. I have pressed exit or Text again but nothing, it still stays on the same black screen.
Anyone have any idea how to use Teletext (or Subtitles via the Teletext service) on the Azbox Premium HD+ and if it works at all or not? I have the latest firmware BTW which is pretty old obviously.
Maybe RTR Planeta has the flags active but it does not send any data for Subtitles neither Teletext at all at least on 14W probably. I know this Teletext stuff is big in Europe so maybe I should ask on European forums as well.
Good Evening All, Finally !, they work !. I did a 6 hour recording on a USB stick and played with VLC and the subtitles via Teletext they work BUT THE PROBLEM IS that on the stream itself the Teletext page is labeled as 188 yet in reality they are sending the subtitle data on page 888 !! as apparently normally they use 888 in Europe. I recorded 6 hours because I thought maybe not all shows have subtitles and indeed apparently they dont have subtitles on live news shows for instance and it is mostly on series , drama, soap operas and pre-recorded shows like that.
There is no initial page 100 giving instructions so the user has to really type 888 to force the media player like VLC or the satellite receiver to gather page 888 and its data. And it works perfect, in perfect synch with transparency on or off I mean with the black background on the words or without it.
The Azbox gets stuck on 100 black screen if you press Teletext and this subtitles via teletext I still have not test it on the Azbox on this particular shows but because the stream is indicating page 188 I guess the receiver won't find them because when I type 888 or any number on the Azbox it really does nothing and it stays on black screen page 100.
Luckily I decided to install TSReader Pro to inspect further and that was when I saw that TSReader reports Magazine 1 Page 88 therefore 188 instead of Magazine 0 Page 88 that belongs to Teletext Page 888 because the first digit only goes from 0 to 7 and 0 means 8 to align the rest from 1 to 7.
If it wasn't for TSReader I would have never figured it out though because VLC although powerful only shows very limited extra data compared to TSReader.
