This is an intersesting development. I already have Peacock ad-free for $16.99 on YouTube. With this partnership, since I already have YouTube Premium, it looks like I will get ad-supported Peacock for free. Makes me wonder if my $139.99 yearly deal for YouTube Premium will increase...

NBCUniversal and YouTube Announce Global Strategic Partnership, Expanding Reach of Peacock and NBCUniversal Content Across YouTube’s Industry-Leading Platforms
The multi-faceted agreement includes:
- Beginning in early 2027, Peacock Premium will be included in a bundle with YouTube Premium, making it immediately available to millions of existing YouTube Premium subscribers, substantially expanding Peacock's reach and making it one of the most broadly distributed premium streaming services in the U.S. Subscribers will receive seamless access to Peacock within the YouTube experience, featuring marquee live sports including the NFL, Olympics, NBA, MLB, Big Ten and Notre Dame Football, Big 12, Big East and Big Ten College Basketball, Premier League, WNBA, Kentucky Derby, golf and more, hit series such as Love Island USA, The Real Housewives franchise, Law & Order: SVU, Saturday Night Live, The Traitors, All Her Fault and The Office; and award-winning and blockbuster films.
- This deal also extends NBCUniversal's multi-year distribution agreement with YouTube TV, the largest and fastest-growing pay TV provider in the U.S., ensuring continued broad linear distribution of NBCUniversal's industry-leading portfolio of entertainment, sports and news programming.
- The companies will deepen their longstanding advertising technology collaboration, including through FreeWheel, to enhance advertising capabilities and drive greater monetization at scale.
- The agreement will also expand the global reach of NBCUniversal's international streaming services, Universal+ and Hayu, through YouTube Premium in select markets.
- NBC Sports will be the production partner for select premier live sporting events on YouTube.
- A selection of live sporting events from NBCUniversal will stream on NBC Sports' YouTube channel, bringing a sample of world-class games to millions of users on YouTube.
- The deal extends and expands the distribution and offerings of YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Premium on Comcast's Xfinity and Xumo platforms.
According to the YouTube Premium page the cost is $159.99 right now. Did you get some kind of deal for $139.99 or did it go up after you subscribed for $139.99?
You know what - it went up...when I click on my account, it shows my $139.99 membership, but if I go to "top up", it changes to $159.99. Doing a Google search, it went up on April 10. So I must have done an early renewal before the price increase went into effect.

For years I have tried to get KRWG-TV from New Mexico State University (see my avatar). I could get a usable signal back in the analog days but when they went digital they moved their tower which is behind a tall mountain in my line of sight. I do get an occasional stable signal on some mornings if I turn my antenna that way but otherwise gave up on it long ago.
I was very excited when I read on their web site that they now provide an OTA signal for El Paso. However, when I dug into the technical details on rabbit ears I expected trouble when I read that they are using the same rf 23 as the main signal. Also, I am over 18 miles from the 3.15 KW transmitter.
Sure enough, when I scanned for new channels the signal breaks up continually and has only occasional audio. I am getting a signal strength of 92 but signal quality of only 10. This is with a moderate GE attic/outdoor antenna with clear line of sight to KFOX's tower (that KRWG is using in El Paso). I also tried the 4 bay antenna I put up for my neighbor at a higher 20 feet with the same results.
I suspect the problem to be that I get just enough of the main channel 23 to interfere with the local signal. Ten years ago I would have been tempted to try a higher and more directional antenna but I am a bit past that stage at this point. I also feel the chances of success are rather slim.
I wonder if KRWG wanted to use the same rf 23 or were forced into the situation as there are almost no empty slots on UHF in this area. I almost wish they hade used high VHF.
Do any members know of any area where these multi-transmitter set ups work well? They claim it will be feasible with ATSC 3.0 but I am not holding my breath for that.

You do get KENW from Eastern NM who argued with FCC a decade ago about them being moved to Lubbock market.
Almost statewide. The eastern counties and the one by El Paso are different DMA

I watched the three main soaps on ABC back in my 20s because I worked grave yards stocking and would watch them on my VCR in the afternoons when I got up after sleeping in the day. When I went to a dept. manager in the mornings, my buddy from the other department at Safeway and I would often go to eat at Mr. Ghatti's Pizza on our lunch break and they had a big box screen TV in the 80s we could watch the soap on which was All My Children at noon. "Tad the Cad" was our favorite soap guy. He was the shampoo guy at his birth mother's beauty shop and he seduced both mother Marion and her daughter Liza at the same time. Loved it when they both found out about the other.

Maybe Cable companies should rethink their strategy to attract new customers and to keep them. The old plan of announcing new fees for things you never had before after you subscribe and hiking the price every 6 months to a year is not working. Or they could continue to circle down the drain till they go under. At this point I don't really care as long as there is competition that can provide you with their services at lower prices.

A skinny bundle with minimal fees would probably get them a few more years, but the corporate conglomerates that own the networks won't allow it. They're going to milk every penny out of 3 FXs, 6 MTVs, 7 ESPNs...all playing content available on Pluto.
