Need help with my new 622...

I have just gotten a 622 and it only connected to 1 TV. I hung a plasma that it is running and hid the 622 in an enclosed bookcase. I thought I could use the UHF remote instead of the IR but I can't figure out how. As of now I have to leave the door open on the bookcase for it to work. How can I use the UHF remote and make it work?

If that remote works at all, then the address must be correct, but you might still want to verify what JimK2 said. Possibly try a different address as well.

If that doesn't help, then try extending the UHF antenna from beyond the back of the 622. There are many comments on this topic. Try this thread:

Thanks for the link. I can run some RG6 out of the antenna output up to the top of the cabinet connect the antenna antenna to that, drill a small hole in the top of the bookshelf (which is hidden)mount it there and that should do the trick. Never thought of that!

Should work for you! Do report back. I've had interest in doing essentially the same thing when I get a (proverbial) "round tuit". Right now the UHF remote is just on the margin from another room. If I move it around I will usually find a spot that works (and strain something in the process!). Just a nuisance. I think the raised antenna is the answer for me too...

In addition to what they all said...

If you are only running one TV, then as they said above, put the 622 in SINGLE MODE and either remote will work both TV1 Output and TV2 Output. You can use the 622 to get Picture-in-Picture instead of using the TV's Picture-in-Picture capability.

However, if in the future you decide to connect 2 televisions, or desire to use the TV's Picture-in-Picture, then you can purchase a UHF-PRO Remote for TV1. This remote is only sold by Dish Network Technical Support for about $39 + shipping. This remote comes with some removable tabs so that it will work either as a Replacement IR for TV1, a Replacement UHF-PRO for TV2, or a new UHF-PRO for TV1.

It definitely WORKS!

I ran a piece of white coax out of the back of my AV cabinet, along the baseboard, and then came under my speaker & hid the antenna behind the speaker grill.

Drastically improved my UHF remote #2 reception from the bedroom.

Great, SR! I was thinking of a similar solution, but I might just strip-off the coax outer jacket and shield to the same length as that antenna. Either should work just as well...

I subscribed to Peacock for 1 month because of Tour de France this month. First time subscribing to Peacock since they did away with the amazing Black Friday 1 year deals. What is different - I bought it through my YouTube Premium account, so I can watch all the Peacock through the YouTube app. This is the first time I have experienced this where you don't have to switch apps. For Paramount+ I need to switch to a different app. When I subscribed to CHSN or Marquee, I need to switch to their apps. And last time I subscribed to Peacock, I had to be in their app.

I am blown away that I can subscribe to Peacock on YouTube and watch all the content directly on YouTube.

Yep! Normal YouTube. Just like when I buy NFL Sunday Ticket. I don't have YouTube TV. My local NBC channlel, the live streaming channels, and all the movies/tv shows are all just on YouTube. Everything on Peacock now says "purchased" - previously it would say "buy" and I would have to buy all the shows individiually.

That Does make sense, when I get the ST on YTTV, they show up in the YTTV Guide, so I guess Peacock and others I presume, show up as well.

I did get another streaming app off the YTTV menu a long time ago, but don't remember if it showed on the YTTV guide or if I went to the App for the Streaming service.

I see Some of the Streaming options show up in the YTTV options to purchase, but not all.... (Major wise) Paramount Plus with Showtime is there and a few others as well.

Dish/Directv both will be around (likely combined and rebranded) for at least another 10-15 years.
Yes, the number of subscribers will continue to decrease over time but that is not the end of the world as some like to predict.

And, the business will make money during that time, perhaps not much, but it will be profitable.

25 years ago I remember all the threads demanding new channels and the race for DTV and Dish to add channels....all to end up with nothing on! Things really need to be leaned out, we don't need 3 FXs, 5 ESPNs, 8 MTVs

The cheapest all plastic, no composite output $50 receiver they could make. Came out around 2004 just before they started leasing equipment. They weren't around long.

Umbrella base for pole to fit antenna

I'm still experimenting with OTA antennas at my new apartment. The mudflap works OK, but we had a dust/wind/rain storm the other day and it all but blew it away. I moved it indoors where the antenna is safer but the signals are marginal.

I bought a traditional Yagi antenna from Amazon and it seems to work more consistently, plus it's meant for outdoors where the mudflap is not.

Anyway, I've had success using umbrella bases paired with a fence post for satellite dishes, and I figured that could work for this as well. I'm just not sure where or what to get and what size pole for this application.
