I lease an 811 and a 501 DVR now.

I can upgrade the 811 to a 211 for $49. (I don't need the antenna.)
I can upgrade the 811 to a 622 for $299.

My questions are:
1-Do I get any credit for the 501 toward the 622?
2-Can I upgrade the 501 to a 211 for $49 and keep the 811?
3-Can I get the $200 rebate on the 622 if I wait until April, not having an HD DVR now?

Does anyone know the answers to any of those questions?

If I go with just the 622 I'll save on the "second receiver charge". One 622 is really all I'll need. I'll get an HD DVR with two outputs - one HD, one SD, and I'll be able to get both the MPEG2 and MPEG4 channels.

I'd be totally happy to have the 622vip mailed to me with some fee for an upgrade. But most of us don't have a need for a new OTA or new sat dish. The 99.00 isn't a bit deal for me ... its the wait. Between now and April is a long time. If I catch info that Fios is coming or if Comcast sends me a flyer with a great deal, sad to say I am going to be looking seriously. In my case, it was a major mistake to withhold the new programing off the existing mpeg2 sets as a marketing decision.

WAIT WAIT WAIT

I OWN a 942, so the ability to LEASE a 622 is unappealing. Sure, I could sell the 942, but the resale value is about to start dropping like a stone.

(See, I can say something negative about all this...)

yes the 6000 has the same offer.

So it looks like we have to pay the $49 for the install though, that's a bummer, since there's nothing for them to install for me, just grab 811 insert 211, I've already got the dishes I need.

Dish 1000 will be used for the majority of markets. A second dish pointing at 61.5 will, be used for the rest of the markets who cant see 129. There's a PDF on here somewhere that shows which markets cant use a dish 1000 (I know florida is in it)

Did they say if you take the upgrade offer that they will want our owned machines in exchange? Or can I sign up for a lease of a VIP622 and still keep my 921 around?

There seems to me something amiss......

There's one thing I don't get. Under the upgrade plan for those of us that have 921/942s they have the upgrade price $299, the rebate $200, for a total of $99. Then there's the asterick *includes professional installation and dish antenna if applicable. "If applicable" sounds like you pay the $99 regardless, even if you don't need the antenna cause you already have one. Professional installation on a receiver swap is a joke.

My 942 was activated 10 days ago ($250 lease) when everyone thought only the locals would be MPEG4 to start. I've already got a dish pointing to 129. I don't need the antenna upgrade, and I certainly don't need professional installation. Gee I guess that means I pay $99. I doubt they'll let me just pay the price difference between the 942 and 622 price.

so let me get this right, if my current sat dish is pointed to 119 and 110 I can upgrade my 811 to the 211 and get the second dish pointed to 61.5 for $50?

Too bad I can't use my best buy cards on one of those new fancy smancy hd dvrs. That's about the only way me wife is letting me come close to that price.

Because of this "great" offer E* has made for us 6000/811 owners, I started checking D* again. Why can't Charlie offer this deal that D* is supposedly going to make (MPEG4 DVR with 30 hour MPEG 4 HD recording for $99 ANY existing sub and $200 new sub with rebate)? Sounds like a lease, but it doesn't mention it.

Come on E*, offer something similar and many of us would be praising you.

Ya'll forgot to mention Cinemax HD, it WAS mentioned albeit quietly.

Also will the extra movie channels in HD be HD-Lite or what? I ask since we all know HBO and Sho are so far staying full HD.

One more question:
I lease a 942. Can I go ahead and get the 622 as soon as they are out (by paying $299) and then get the rebate in April? Or do I have to wait until April to order to get the $99 (after rebate) price?

I have a question. Currently I have a 522. Am I able to upgrade to the 622 and just get the regular HD channels? I really don't want voom right now but the other hd channels I want. I already get locals with my antenna so I don't need them either.

What should I do?

will 622 require two lines?
