Installing a 1000.2 Dish and the instruction manual is rather lacking in this regards. It apparently is the manual used for the 1000 plus with no changes.

So.....

The 118/119W lnb is obvious. However, one connection says 1F and the other says 2D. Are these both output connections? If so, which of the 4 ports on the DPP44 do these connect to?

There are 2 other lnbs for 110 and 129W. One of the LNBs is pretty standard with 2 output connections. However, the other is labelled AKH1-DPS and only has 1 connection. Does the single output connect to 129W or 110W? Do I run 1 connection from each lnb to the DPP44 and if so, does it matter which input I use? If not, where do I run the connections? Do I just leave the lnb with the 2 outputs blank on one output?

Any other things i should know?

Thanks....

Sounds like you are using the wrong reference. The 1000.2 does not have the LNB to receive 118. You need to find the manual for the 1000+ which does have the correct LNB for 118.

Page 6 of the 500+/1000+ tells you exactly where to connect the outputs - all three.

The manual that came with it says 1000.2 - however, the dish says PLUS on it - and it does have the 118/119 LNB, thus my confusion.

Thanks for the link to the REAL manual!

Do I gain anything by having a dual output LNB instead of a single output lnb on 110W and/or 129W?

Both the 500+ (119, 118.7, 110), and the 1000+ (119, 118.7, 110, 129) use the FSS kit. Really if you think about it it's easy to figure out. There two outputs on the FSS kit one 1F for the FSS bird 118.7, and 2D for the DBS bird 119. Both must be connected to an external switch (along with the remaining DBS bird/s) to view programming from each. Typcally you want to connect 119 to port 1, 110 to port 2 (129 to port 3), and the 118.7 (FSS) to the last port (and always 4 on a DP+44 regardless if your using port 3 or not).

Got it installed now. Just curious as the 110W LNB is a single output where the 129W is a dual output - so wondering if I gain any advantage to replacing the 110W LNB with a dual output on a DP system?
