HERE TO HELP YOU!
Call for HD DVD Entries

Jointly sponsored by Amazon and Microsoft, the 1000 HD DVD Indies Project changes the distribution game for indie filmmakers shooting in high definition.
At no charge, up to 1000 selected entries will be authored to HD DVD using Microsoft's world-class technology and then made available to millions of Amazon.com customers through the CustomFlix Disc on Demand service. Units are produced as customers order, so there is no inventory to worry about.
Filmmakers set their own list price and earn royalties on all sales. Plus, filmmakers are free to pursue traditional distribution deals while participating in this Project.

Enter Now!

It's easy to submit your content to the 1000 HD DVD Indies Project. Simply fill out the form and click "submit." If your title is chosen, we'll contact you via email or phone, and you'll have up to 30 days to send us a copy of your HD tape (film not accepted) and set up your title in our system. You'll receive a free proof copy for review and approval before your disc becomes available for sale.
But act fast - we're only accepting 1000 titles!

I guess it won't cost them much, and there's always the chance of a real gem arising from the cesspool.

Most small, independent movie makers produce stuff that ensures they will remain small, independent - or out of business. Pretty much the definition.

All 1,000 titles together will not likely total up to the sales figure of the lowest selling title from a major studio. But then, that's right- big hearted MS isn't doing it for the money, they're adding a thousand titles to the HD DVD count because "It's the right thing to do!"

Wow do I disagree. Some of the best critically acclaimed films are independents. Many a big time producer has hit it big with a low budget, independent movie including Lucas.

Lucas? Which one?

THX-1138 was produced by Lucas and Coppola in a small company they founded called American Zoetrope in 1971. When Coppola went on to film the Godafather in 1972, Lucas formed his own company called........ Lucas Arts. The rest is history.

Yep. Understood. But the number of winners from this batch is likely to be quite small.

Still, it's an opportunity for many. Take advantage of it, even if it's offered for self serving reasons.
