Strange one. When I blindscan this one with my osmio4k. Nothing is found. Of course when you can catch it. Inclined orbit and all. 4163 V 1937 blasts in at over 15 dB here.
I got curious and scanned it every which way. Limiting the freq. range, sr range. Fixed it to vertical. Usually blindscan is set to Disable sync with....
Tried TNAP with the low sr avl driver. The TNAP Mod one. OpenViX. OpenATV.
She comes up blank. A manual entry in signal finder pops it in right away and strong.

Think someone could give it a shot? I asked EB but where he lives he cant receive 107W
Makes me wonder now how many hit's I've missed when doing blindscans.

107W is correct.Thing is, I blindscan frequently looking for wild feeds. I know the sat is inclined orbit. The reception opportunity is limited each day.
That's got nothing to do with anything. What's got me wondering right now is how many transponders might be missed in other sat scans.
The signal rate is low, yes. But not so low that the mio4k 'cant' receive it (sr 1937).
The channel was already there from a previous scan. And usually I disable using the satellites.xml in scan settings.
It's just not found in a new scan. Deleted from the xml and channel deleted from the lamedb. A scan won't find it.
Entering the details in Signal finder pops it in immediately.

Was wondering if anyone had a chance if they could try it when 107 is receivable.

i've definitely seen this type of problem on other satellites, where it mises certain transponders even on multiple blind scans, for no apparent reasons. And at other times it will find it. I don't have an explanation for it

for anyone who is interested in trying it, Anik F1R's orbit just crossed the equatorial plane, so can be received like any "normal" satellite for probably the next 30 minutes.

I am seeing the exact same problem where the blind scan in TNAP 5.1 is not finding it, but the Signal Finder locks that transponder right away at 14.2 dB

now if I boot TNAP 6, the blind scan finds it just fine

then on TNAP 4.2 (with T2MI driver), no luck

and finaly a TNAP 5.1 with standard non-T2MI driver, it finds it!

so my guess is that this is a shortcoming of the T2MI-enabled driver (including the one that allows lower SR on 5.1)

while doing this, the signal increased to 15dB, not bad for that old satellite! It's now down to 14 dB. I have a doubt actually, that maybe the modified driver gives a lower dB reading by about .5 dB. Something to check...

For reference, this was tested with a 10' Winegard Quadstar, C2-PLL Titanium LNBF, Pansat 1.1 DiseQc switch and OSMIO4K receiver loaded with 4 images as described in my list above

Maybe EB can provide us with some directions on how to run the scan in some form of debug mode so that he can get more details?

I want to add Ku Band to my Cband Dish.
