BETA: 1080p Videos

The HD looks good and they are calling it real 1080p, but is it really 1080p?

Interesting. Is this a real time service? Or just selected stuff after its aired?

It might be 1080p but it has been severly compressed. I watched the samples on a 10mbit connection. Notice any movement loses resolution, significant conturing and macroblocking. The still backgrounds looked a nice crisp 1080p, but all the people suffered from a severe case of clay face.

CBS' TV.com upgrades high-def video

TV.com, a unit of CBS Corp., said Thursday that it has begun beta testing a high-definition video gallery that allows users to watch ad-supported repurposed network programming online in 1080p resolution.

Supported by Adobe System's Flash platform, the 1080p video gallery (BETA: 1080p Videos) will augment the site's current HD gallery, photos, news, interactive forum and network listings.
