The Mitsubishi HC4900 is a LCD 1080p front projector currently selling at Projector People for $1999 and has a $500 rebate making it $1499 and until end of Monday you can get an additional $100 off making it $1399.

So now you can create your own 100, 120, 140 inch home theater in 1080p for $1399.

If you were waiting, maybe your wait is over!

But a lot of people don't like LCD projectors. I definitely prefer DLP. I love my 720p DLP projector. I won't buy a 1080p projector until they hit $1,000.

I used a screen paint formula so that was $18 worth of paint and my 35 foot HDMI cable came from Monoprice.com not Monster so that was $35 and the ceiling mount was $42.

Some people prefer LCD because they see rainbows and if you were thinking about buying the Panasonic AX200u for $1299, here's a 1080p for $1399.

I have a 720p DLP myself and my personal rule is no tv/projector will cost me more than $1,000.00 so I'm not jumping on this one but it does look like a good sign that 1080p will be headed my way and maybe this year!

Once you have seen a really big screen, those 42, 50, and 60 inchers just won't do!

WORD!!!

Diogen.

DBL DITTO!

.. and to the other user: there is NOTHING wrong with LCD FPTV; I can assure you of that.

.. and to all: even after all the rebates THIS post lists I would STILL take a strong look at the PLV-Z2000 as my 1st choice over this one.

I went for the Panny, 720p because of the lumens and the 2x zoom. I am only throwing it about 13 feet. I like the LCD more than the DLP's I checked out. Personal preference I would imagine.

You know, 20,000 hours like the samsung LED TV's.

(Just Kidding stargazer)

Hey my Optoma HD70 bulb can last 20,000 hours.........after I replaced it seven times!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I however did buy the Circuit City 4 year protection plan as it would cover one free bulb replacement during the warranty period. I use my projector more than enough to need that bulb replacement within that four year period. So once that second bulb goes bad I will upgrade to a 1080p projector "and" buy a new bulb for my new bedroom HDTV set.;)
