What is the configuration of this type of set up ?

Can both receivers move the motor ?

What does adding 2nd receiver require ?

Will a splitter work ?

I am asking because my Grandma will enjoy some stuff with me, but when I'm scanning and just looking for stuff a 2nd receiver in my room will be nicer as to not inconvenience her.

I understand multiple receivers can only watch one bird at a time.

Any suggestions ? that don't require a second motorized dish ?

What is the configuration of this type of set up ?
if you have a dual LNB, one line goes to the 2nd receiver and the other line goes to the motor then to the main receiver.

Can both receivers move the motor ?
in the above, no. Only one receiver can control the motor

What does adding 2nd receiver require ?
if you have a dual LNB, just a second line run

Will a splitter work ?
high frequency splitter (up to 2200 mhz) will work, but the second receiver would only get the same polarity as the main. A dual LNB will allow the 2nd receiver to get both polarites (same satellite) :)
