Carolina is my next choice.
My heart says the Cardinals, but my head says the Panthers.
It's amazing- when they beat San Diego in week 1, I chalked it up as a fluke.
I thought they were a strange team at times- they looked great against New Orleans and Arizona, yet looked lackluster against the Raiders and Lions.
Then came the three-game stretch against Tampa, Green Bay, and Denver. I officially took this team as serious after the Bucs rematch.
It took me about half the season to buy into this bunch as well. But I am a believer now. Their running game is amazing. It would bring a smile to Lombardi. The defense concerns me. Their meltdowns in Atlanta, Green Bay and the 4th Qtr in NO were scary, but the Panthers always live on the wild side. Hopefully the week off will do them some good and they can get that SB title they so nearly had 5 years ago.
I like Pittsburgh, but the match-up I want to see is Miami/Atlanta. Two of last years worst in the Super Bowl. Inconcievable!
Here's a good omen for the Giants- the last two times a Super Bowl was played in Tampa- Super Bowls XXV and XXXV, the G-Men represented the NFC.
