I am working on setting up some remote app programs off our server. I have TS web access up and running but I am having a problem with the security certificate when I pull the site up remotely. I have the certificate installed in the trusted root certification store, and when I view the certificate path it states it is ok. The error I am getting is: "The security certificate issued by this website was issued to a different web address."

I am sure this is a simple fix as I just need to change to point the certificate to our IP address. I just don't know how to modify it. This is my first experience with this kind of thing and literally my 2nd week using 2008. Any help or suggestions would be great.

While I have not done this with windows server... In a different situation we made a hosts file entry on the client

Your client needs to resolve the ip address of the server as the same name as the certificate. c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

We put the ip address of the server in there using the same name as the certificate.

So if the certificate was for server.windows.com your host file entry would be something like

123.123.123.123 server.windows.com

This assumes you are using a static IP address for your server.

Tried editing the \host file a couple of different ways with no luck. Added the web address to trusted sites on IE as well. With Firefox I can choose to save the certificate, but I have not found a way for IE9 to save it.
