2009 MLB Playoffs

What's with the baseball tonight guys and female staff? First Herald, now Steve. Who's next? Kruk?

If you recall, Mr. Phillips had a BIG problem when he was GM of the Mets keeping his pee-pee in his pants. There was quite a bruhaha that was somehow quickly brushed under the carpet.

And I love it...he was broadcasting a game once and said that he always carries binoculars and an encyclopedia of birds with him on the road. He said "You never know what rare species of bird I might find." Yeah...Steve...right!

TBS lead announcer Chip Caray has had a terrible NLCS, often unable to distinguish between grounders, liners and flyballs, and this was part of his call on Jimmy Rollins' game-winning double Monday night: "Here's the throw to the plate! Not in time!" Uh, Chip, there was no throw. Cutoff man Rafael Furcal didn't bother. -- SF Chronicle

Thank God we can listen to Vinny tonight!;)

If you've ever wanted to take a shot at Manny Ramirez, be at the corner of 16th and Chestnut today between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Asian World of Martial Arts will be there with a grappling dummy dressed in a Manny jersey. -- Philadelphia Inquirer

Wouldn't it be more appropriate if he was wearing just a towel and carrying his soap and shampoo?:)

Hopefully the Dodgers can win tonight, Just got myself some tix for game 6. Cmon man in blue let's do this tonight dawgs.. I can taste the Garlic Fries and the Brew

Wednesday's NLCS Game 5 on TBS/TBS-HD
Phillies lead series, 3-1
Dodgers (Padilla) at Phillies (Hamels)- 8:07pm ET/5:07pm PT

That game last night was brutal. CC was on his game, but the Angels weren't even working counts. They were hacking away at bad pitches like they used to do. Bobby Abreu looks intimidated out there and that's not good. Juan rivera and Chone Figgins are doing absolutely nothing at all.

And don't even get me started on those umps...my mind is reeling still and has been all night. That was just embarassing for the MLB. I have never seen such incompetence as this year's post season umpiring....

You have got to love the fact that both Ryan Howard and A-Rod have tied Lou Gehrig's RBI record in the same year. I would love to see both of them keep it up through the entire post season. Right now it appears they will be facing each other in the WS. I dislike the Yankees but only because they have won so many times there is no thrill to me. You do have to love the way A-Rod and Jeter in particular add so much to the game in everyway. No, I have not forgotten the enhancement issue. A-Rod is just fun to watch. By the way, are Viagra and Cialis considered performance enhancing drugs?

ahem, pitching also has a lot to do with their postseason successes too. It is a team game after all. ;)

That is true.....I would never doubt pitching! But all this A-Rod not being clutch is so ridiculous when you factor in that going into this series....approx. 42 games, he had a BETTER average, RBIs and HRs than Reggie Jackson.

Reggie - > .278 ........11 HR.........RBIs....27
A-Rod - > .299 .........12 HR........RBIs ....28

.....These are the numbers after exactly 42 playoff games....

..and then in game 43, I think he hit 3 home runs...LOL!
