I was really hoping that they would have never meet in the playoffs. You figure that the Red Wings were my team prior to the Jackets. Heck they still are my second favorite team.

The good part is that it seems like the Jackets play against the Wings really hard normally. Hopefully this will be a really good series.

Guess we'll have to wait till later to determine dates.

Wings would have Home Ice in this match up, you would expect a game Thur and Saturday, or Wen. and Friday, probably the first one.

That would put games in Columbus during the week .... I was wondering if I was going to be able to go to Nationwide Arena to see a playoff game ... that won't happen if it's a weekday game. :(

Phils were always my 2nd favorite team to the rays and now after last year series I don't really like them (the phils that is) that much at all .... bet u find same with the wings after the jackets series no matter which way it goes ....

I really doubt that. I have been a wings fan all of my life. I just decided to adopt the Ohio team once they came into the league.

This will be the first NHL playoff meeting between two California teams since the 1969 Western Conference Quarterfinals, when the Los Angeles Kings beat the Oakland Seals in seven games (that was the ONLY previous in-state playoff matchup until now). The last time a California playoff matchup occurred in the NHL, NBA or MLB was in 2002, when the Angels and Giants met in the World Series.
The Ducks-Sharks matchup features two of the most successful teams in the NHL since the lockout (start of the 2005-06 season). Since that time, the Ducks have posted a 180-107-41 record, with four playoff appearances, two 100+ point seasons, a Pacific Division title (2007) and Stanley Cup championship (2007). No NHL team has won more playoff rounds (6 – also Detroit) than Anaheim since the 2005-06 season.
The Sharks have posted a 197-94-37 mark since the 2005-06 season, including three consecutive 100+ point seasons, four playoff appearances and two Pacific Division titles (2008 & 2009).
The Ducks have an all time record of 41-41-8 lifetime vs. San Jose, including marks of 18-22-5 at Honda Center and 23-19-3 at HP Pavilion. The Sharks won the 2008-09 season series, 4-2.
