Unfortunately the Red Sox didn't successfully defend their title, but I'm still very much looking forward to the postseason!
My predictions:

American League
Athletics over Royals

Tigers over Orioles in 7
Athletics over Angels in 6

Tigers over Athletics in 6

National League
Pirates over Giants

Dodgers over Cardinals in 6
Nationals over Pirates in 5

Dodgers over Nationals in 6

World Series
Dodgers over Tigers in 6

I'll take the Tigers over the O's and think that the Royals will beat the A's to advance and lose to the Angels ...
Setting up the Tigers and the Angels ...

And a Cabrera and Trout series for the media to gush over.

It's nice to see that Cabrera is actually somewhat healthy for the Tigers going into a Post Season, thats the 1st time I can remember him being almost full strength in many year going in.

Tuesday- American League Wild Card Playoff

Athletics (Lester) at Royals (Shields)- 8:00pm ET (TBS)

I still think Selig has watered down the product too much ... 1 WC is great because then you have an even number of teams qualify ...
The 1 game and your out part is very difficult if your the lower team record wise of the Division winners as you could be gone after winning your division with one bad game.

I would bet money it changes eventually to best 2 of 3

Don't know how far we will get this year but its October and its FUN!!!

My late father was from Kansas City & he hated the Oakland Athletics because they use to be the Kansas City Athletics. I never thought that I'd be watching an Athletics-Royals game.

Wednesday- National League Wild Card Playoff

Giants (Bumgarner) at Pirates (Volquez)- 8:00pm ET (ESPN)
