24: Live Another Day

They pretty much left the storyline open to do another one. I honestly was hoping for Jack to blow himself up with the russians in the helicopter and at least end the show completely on that note. But no the story continues. Honestly if they were going to do that, Fox shouldn't have cancelled the series back in 2010. Fox realized they screwed up and now we have to deal with these miniseries and the storyline just seems to drag on now.

I was fine with the way that it ended. There pretty much had to be a big "shocking" loss to be consistent with the 24 methodology. I was afraid it was going to be Chloe. I think they could go lots of different directions if they want to with the way they ended it. There was a lot of time between the end of the action and the meet (12 hours) so there were a lot of things that could be done to track Jack (reposition satelites, insert a tracking device, etc.). Jack was pardoned so he could have the support of the U.S. government again. OR that could be end end of Jack and they can go a different direction with a different character using the same "real-time" format.

Evan Katz and Manny Coto tell THR that all it'd take for them to return would be "an interesting take on Jack."

I actually liked the end of the last real season better than this one. There was more of an unknown. You knew Jack was still out there somewhere. Now he is with the Russians. As I said before potentially with a plan, but I liked him out on his own better.

The one thing we know about Jack Bauer, is he suffers greaty when he works with no support. His success rate is directly benefited by his ability to have intelligence and communications resources. Maybe Chloe and Kate will go after him and pull him out. I doubt the President will do squat. He might not even remember who Jack is.

Fair point Don. He has a lot bigger stuff to deal with. Including stepping down as president. Maybe a Jack friendly character (don't know if there are any left) will turn out to be the vice president (future president), as I don't believe that we were told who the VP was, and will send a team to get Jack.

If this continues as a summer series I expect the president to already be a vegetable if he is even alive. As for a friendly VP, nope. To easy and would give Jack carte blanche for later missions. Any rescue has to be covert and not sanctioned by any government agency.

He has had friendly presidents in the past. Remember Palmer?

Just finished watching...

Poor Jack! Why can't he get a happy end, for once?!

Question: Any scoop on 24‘s return? Comic-Con came and went with no announcement. Are we getting more or has Jack Bauer finally run out of time?
Ausiello: All signs point to more 24, but probably not until the 2015-16 season at the earliest. Everyone connected with the stellar Live Another Day — namely, Kiefer Sutherland and his fellow EPs — are taking a little breather.
