The dish doesn't have to be changed, just the LNB.
You can connect 2 Hopper 1's or 2 Hopper 2's or a Hopper 1 or 2 and a Super Joey to the 2 ports on a Hybrid LNB.

Copper Clad is just a thin coating on the exterior surface of the center conducter of the cable. Scratch the copper surface or damage it while stripping the cable to put fittings on reduces the conductivity of the cable.
