I went to DISH's website, and went through the motions as if I were ordering DISH service online as a first-time customer. When I selected the number of TVs I desired to be hooked up, sure enough the hardware description showed either an HD Solo or HD Duo receiver. So it would appear that the 311s and 322s are no more ...

That's not what's going on in this example.

Greensboro NC is an Eastern Arc market. That means the locals are up in MPEG-4 which none of the SD receivers are capable of decoding. So you get an HD receiver even if you only subscribe to SD.
