Last night I heard a tapping
as if someone gently rapping
rapping inside my panny's speakers!!!

apologies to Poe

actually it was more of an occasional audio "thump"

turns out to be the 622 HDMI audio feed, no problem with component + analog or toslink. Is there a way to disable the HDMI audio?????

Panny plasma? I have a Panasonic plasma and it has HDMI Audio right next to HDMI #1 input on the TV. I think if you use those audio connections it over-rides the HDMI audio. Can't remember.... I tried a lot of goofy combinations before I settled in on my current and very simple one. :)

TV does video switching, AV receiver does audio.

. Nope the HDMI overrides the analog cables.

I reset the HDMI in one of the systems menus and it did the fix. we'll see if it holds.
