722 5.1

Will the hdmi out on the 722 pass 5.1 or do you still have to use the optical out? thanks

My receiver does only does HDMI pass-through, and my TV only advertises 2 channel, so I have to use optical out to my receiver to get 5.1. Other setups may work better, although HDMI can be troublesome with the 722.

No problems here. I have it hooked to my Onkyo receiver and get 5.1.

It depends on the TV but to answer the question, yes the 722 passes 5.1 through HDMI.

Thanks. I just found I had my onkyo on the wrong setting
