I have had my DVR since last May. Lately, it starts recording things I don't it to record on tv 1 or tv 2 at anytime. No rhyme or reason. I have called Advanced tech support several times and I have had to change the remote address code at least 4 times on both tv 1 and tv 2. I was told if this happened again, to call BACK and they would troubleshoot some more. Isn't there an attenuator I can get somewhere for this or are there other things that this problem could be? Any help would be nice as I am getting very frustrated and I know from visiting here enough that ya'll are good at this stuff!! Thanks!

Press the DVR button twice and then find timers and delete the timers you do not want. Timers may be under the schedule menu.
That is what I have been doing. According to tech support, they seem to think a neighbors remote might have the same code as mine. However that works. Even the instruction manual says it could be interference from a neighbor. But 4-5 times in one week is a bit excessive.

Well if it is a neighbor on the same remote code it could happen a lot more than that. Have you changed the code to something a little harder? Maybe try the B band (might be less likely to have someone on that). Are you sure that you got rid of all of the timers you don't want?

One way to be certain that its not the neighbors is to go ir only.Remove the uhf antenna on the back.If the timers still keep firing then its gotta be happening from your house.

Not sure that would really prove anything though. Most people don't setup new timers every day. But I hear what you are saying.

lol well if there is no uhf signal for the 722 and timers still fire then assuming that the op has cleared all the timers then it would eliminate the possibility of it being the neighbor doing it.

Did you cuss at it? Sometimes that does the trick. haha
I've even tried threatening it with dipping it in water!!:-) To answer a few questions raised.... The only timer I have set up is one on Sunday evening. And for some reason, it keeps wanting to record Dancing With the Stars on Monday and Tuesday nights. I delete them and by next week, they are back. The other day, tv 1 and tv 2 were both recording. CNN on tv 1 and then on tv 2 it was recording HLN. I don't even go anywhere near those channels and I asked my wife and she didn't set those up, either. And sometimes when the timer is created, it records every episode of whatever is being shown, filling up my timers list.

Are you "friends" with a practical joker? ;)

Some guys at work repeatedly went to a friend's house at night and would change channels on him, etc from outside his windows.

Even worse, one of our guys here would visit a guy he knew that had a LOT of equipment. Each visit, he would leave behind an old remote, under the cushions, etc. Drove the victim nuts!

I did that to my grandfather from outside before! I think I'll call tech support tonight after my shows go off!

I think this is the best bet. This will tell us if it may be picking up a neighbor's remote (there is a way to program the remote to send out ALL remote addresses at once)

I doubt that replacing the receiver would make a difference, same with the remotes

Probably other users of DRA are wondering why their timers failed to fire. ;)

If the neighbors remote has the same address, both receivers are most probably being programed at the same time.

It should be pretty easy to see who has a Dish on their roof and politely ask them to check their remotes address and then pick another.

Really,.. Why not give your TV2 remote a new address? Stop all the playing. Hit system info, get the address for your remote. Change it to something else. Is probably at the default. JMO It is pretty simple to do,how to.. is in the manual, tech support can walk you thru it, is probably on this site as well. Good luck.

Looks like that's already been tried
