This evening I open the guide and press the guide button again and again to get to my favorite channels and they are gone. Next I hit menu, preferences, favorites lists, and the lists are there but empty. Been with dish a long time now and have never seen this. What happened?

I can't check if there was a software update because it will stop my timer recordings.

Try doing a AC power reset when your recordings end.

I reprogrammed them back in.
But then I went to edit a timer and the 722 froze. It happened the other day too but only for about 5 seconds. It's froze good this time, will have to reboot.
Edit, might be dead.

Yep, it dead.

I'm going to see what dish has to offer for upgrades but I'm unwilling to pay more for television.

I think you can still replace an existing VIP with another. Also......

Much better response;

Yep, it's dead Jim ....

I've gone through a number of 722s over the years, kinda getting tired of that too. They're noisy, slow, on demand doesn't work, they overheat. The wife has been pestering me to unplug. Hmm.

What does that mean, I'm not seeing anything about on my dish? I'm about to call.

It means that we've been told as a retailer that we can do Hopper Duo upgrades starting today. I don't know what's trickled down to the Dish CSR's yet. If you have a good local retailer you should probably contact them. Good luck.

They deactivated my 722 already so even if it did work, it wouldn't. Also it got so hot it melted the front right rubber foot. And it was on an open stand, airflow all around.

I called and did the Duo upgrade. Unfortunately they require a 2 year commitment and extra $3.22 month which I can swallow. They are installing tomorrow, thanks for the heads up.
You'll like it. Most of the functionality of a Hopper, the good stuff you didn't get with a 722 like On Demand that DOES work and works well

The last time I checked, iVOD worked quite well with my 722 and my 612's. Is this a new bug in VIP software?
No. It pretends to work but the option to play is greyed out on mine and it stays greyed out until the rental expires. The software also works at a glacial pace.
