eh the only issue right now is on KU the "strong transponder" (12050) is off the air and has been for a day or so

IIRC 11855 V 5000 is a data TP but is ungodly strong and can be used to aim a dish

The Ku transponder with the encrypted channels and the test card has been down the last few days, which is probably why he was asking.

There are two data transponders, 11740 V 30000 or 12140 V 30000.

nah...I spend 1/2 hour yesterday trying to aim a 1.8m dish at 91W and couldnt figure out why I wasnt getting anything. Found 93W so like a dumba** I switched back to 91 and used the same transponder (the one that doesnt work right now) to aim...D'OH!!

If my memory is correct, that is the tp. that had about 11 channels on it. I would love for that mux to be gone for good.

looks like the 12050 TP that has been up 24/7 is gone as in gone permanently...yesterday twice the TP was used for college football games

changed the TP on the "what TP is strong to aim at" to the data one I posted above ;)

I was browsing my sats to check TP signals today and I find that the HORIZONTAL TP 12050 1249 KS/s is present and HOT on 91.0°W. But, as you say, the vertical TP 12051 13352 KS/s is cold dead. Don't know if that helps any to know this, but there it is.

RADAR

The only thing I've noticed with that TP is very few receivers will lock that low symbol rate. The GeosatPro 200 grabs it on a blind scan but my Pansat's wont lock it even on manual scan

Is that a data TP? The Solomend picks it up if I enter it manually, but nothing scans in. The only reason I'm not sure is, I've seen it fail to scan other low-SR TPs even when I have a huge signal, because there seems to be a huge delay (measurable in seconds sometimes) between selecting the TP and any quality being reported. Took me forever to scan in KTEL because of this, and I think I had to use the editor to put in Harold Camping's station.
