942 is freezing up

My 942 is freezing up when skip fwd is used then I need to boot from the front panel to correct. They told me it was the new software L280 that was doing it and it would be corrected. I now have L281 and it is still doing it I am afraid it is the Hard Drive and they don't want to send me a new unit?

Also when is the scan software for analog coming out?

It does it with mine too...however, I can recover simply by hitting the Fast Forward (FF) button to get past the sticking point.

The 280/281 releases are the same except for the 129 location check.

The analog channel scan was made available with the 280 release but use at your own risk. There are many reports of bad experiences with it.

Mine does it too every once in a while. Even when I go back to live tv I get a still image with sound. This requires a reboot. Strange. Anyone have any explanations?

Mine started this last night and today. If watching something recorded I just hit the fast forward button and it will start back up. I didn't know what to do last night when I was watching something live and it hung up. So I rebooted.
