Ok, so to get sat 119, I need to replace my current dish with....? and if I cant continue to use a single cable (dont want to have to rewire the RV or drill new holes), then the point is moot :)

can't you just use a SWM 5 lnb?

Yes he can.
Scubabri, did you say your NOT using a DVR ?

IF thats so,then yes the simple 5 lnb will do fine.
One line for a regular recvr, 2 lines for a DVR with the 5 lnb set up.

this thread is all bunked up.

If you need locals off the 119 you can use a 5lnb or swm5 if you are setup for it.

If you don't get locals of the 119, then you can use a 3lnb or swm 3, again, if you are setup for swm.

I started down in the LAX area, this now makes sense as my local channels arrived over 101 thus only needed the SL3. Now that I'm up in Redding, my locals show up on 119, no HD locals, and those all come over 119. Soo.... I need to replace my SL3 with the SL5 and life should be grand.

Still not sure why I'm not getting 99s and 103s though.

Spot beams off those satellites, depending on where you are located, you'll get some and not others, or very weak signals. You results may very.

what do the numbers on you 99c and 103c look like?

zeros, I might have a tree in the way. I just moved across town, I could swore they were coming in at my last spot. I'm gonna try to move into a different spot in the park this week and also get a SL5. I wish the Directv tech support could have clued me in on this :D

thanks for all your help guys. Oh, one last question, any way to figure out what I should be getting on 99s and 103s. Just to make sure I'm not missing anything I might care about.

Ok make sure you have you bbc's connected, and if you do and still have 0's on 99c and 103c, then most likely you aren't aligned correctly. those sats have all your hd channels

http://www.dishpointer.com/ will help you with your new location.

As far as the transponder list for the spotbeams, it's around here somewhere, maybe someone else has the link, or the search.

I'm getting all the HD channels I should be getting. Otherwise I'd really be bored. BBC? B Band Converter? Thought I didnt need one for the SL3 SWiM

ok so you ARE on the swm3 system. so you would need a swm5 then.

Right, no bbc needed. but you have 0's on your 99c and 103c, or is that just the 99S and 103S?

for some reason my Acutrak 22 wiz bang signal meter shows 85 when I pointing at the ground... having figured that out yet. I found that as long as the mast is plumb, that the tilt and alt are marked pretty much right on, the only thing that needs adjustment is the az, and that takes me just a few minutes. I've done this several times now in 4 zip codes, but this 99s thing has me stumped. I'm not to stressed about it, just be nice to figure out why its wonkey.

The 99 and 103 need to be fine tuned with the dithering procedure.
This should bring those two in a bit closer than just nailing down the 101.

You won't notice any picture difference between 80 and 100, it's just a case of how long you can go before losing signal during storms.

I've been in Redding the last 3 summers, I've seen one thunderstorm here during the last 3 summers. Now, in the mountains, thats a different story. I think I'm good. Besides, its to hot to go outside to dither :D

Again, thanks for everyone's help.
