In the world of beta testing, engineers count on tester feedback to identify the opportunities and issues in the software before rolling it out. DirecTV's Cutting Edge program is one of the largest beta test programs in the consumer electronics industry.

That said, the engineers get a ton of feedback, and one could easily say they receive more feedback than can be read/processed.

We know that DirecTV's software team identifies most issues in house and uses the CE program for additional feedback, often reading issues relating only to a certain problem. Anybody that believes the team reads every CE posts is fooling themselves.

The Diagnostic Report is a crucial element in having your feedback reach the engineers working on any specific problem.

Today we just want to remind all our valued CE members that DirecTV does use your feedback, and including a report is the best way to ensure your feedback is received when you are experiencing any particular issue.

As always, THANKS for being SatelliteGuys!

As a reminder, here is how to submit a diagnostic report (from our FAQ thread):
Diagnostics Reports

When reporting significant issues, it is helpful to the software developers to have diagnostic information from your receiver.
This is done by enabling the Diagnostics Report sub menu. Please see the next post of this thread for instructions on how to enable this feature using the IAMANEDGECUTTER hidden keyword feature.

You must have an Ethernet cable / power ine networking adapter / wireless adapter connected to your receiver to send a report to DirecTV.

To generate a diagnostic report number, click: MENU -> Parental, Fav's & Setup -> Miscellaneous Options -> Report

It will take a few minutes to generate a report and upload it to DirecTV, after which you will receive a report number.

You can only generate one diagnostic report per hour.
