Sounds like we will now get pretty much full time HD news through ABC 7. Obviously not everything they show will be in HD but all the studio shots will be HD, I think their news vans are now equiped with HD cameras and they do have the Air 7 HD helicopter. Anyway I think it's wonderful to see ABC 7 step up in the LA market, it will be interesting to see how long it'll be until others follow suit.

ABC San Francisco is just behind. Last night, during Grey's Anatomy, they advertised Air 7 for the Bay Area. The studio will follow for sure.

I used to watch a lot more VOOM HDNews until our local CBS (Washington DC) went HD last spring. In fact, we rarely watched the CBS local news prior to that time because the newscasts were much better on our local ABC and NBC. Anyway, it's now my primary source of news and information.

Why does ABC7 (Los Angeles) show HD for Extreme Makeover Home Edition but it isn't widescreen? Is it really HD? Doesn't look like it to me. Although my Dolby Digital Light is on during the broadcast.
