I have been given two positioners(Echostar 700 and Tracker IIC,without operation manuals) and two actuators,Drake and Venture ,both 24 inch.I wish to motorise my 2.3 meter dish but the Drake does not extend but only rotates. The Venture extends/retracts for about 8 inches.I have opened the back housing of both actuators and note that there is a round metal bar above a plate with 24 to 0 markings. What is the correct setting of this bar and how is the setting done?
Not having manuals and not knowing how to go about the limits i turn to the forum for help.

I believe the bar you are talking about is to adjust the upper limit. The correct setting would be for the rod to hit the limit switch just past the last satellite in the arc when the arm is extended out (so the dish won't flip). There should be a set screw that you can loosen to adjust the rod. The lower limit should be automatic.
