I currently have 1 HD DVR and 1 HD reciever I would like to add another DVR
I called direct they wanted 200.00 dollars for HD or 100.00 for SD for one WTF are they crazy. So my questions is can I buy one with a lease and add to my account and how would that work. I am on a 2 yr lease

Yes, but the unit will still be leased. And your commitment will start over.
I'd call again and ask for a break on the price.

I bought an HR23 for $175 recently to add to my HR20.

BTW, if you add another HD DVR you will also need to add a multiswitch to your system.

thanks I am confused about this stupid lease thing I found one hddvr that was leased however his lease is over so does that mean the receiver is now owned.

No, the receiver is always leased, unless you have "bought" the receiver, which isn't typical anymore.

His contract is up, not his lease.

I wouldn't buy a receiver off of ebay or craigslist. You are likely to get screwed. You can buy one from Costco for 169. It still will be leased and your commitment date starts over. The other option would be to try the CSR roulette game or send them an email. I sent DirecTV an email and they reduced the price on a new HR2X series DVR to 99.......

Earlier this week I called about upgrading from a SD DVR to a HD DVR. They offered me $30 off. I realized this was about the best I was going to get so I asked if they would throw in Super Fan & they did. So I basically got $130 off because in reality I would have ordered Super Fan anyway once the HD was hooked up.

Why not just order a R22 online. They're only about $100 and they're basically a HD-DVR with the current software.

You would also need BBC's hooked up to get the HD channels (if you do not have the SWM system).

After reading everybody suggestions. I think I am going to run a cable from my HDDVR to my bedroom so I have one central DVR UNIT.
Problem is I have a HR22-100 I may have to run Component cables
Any suggestion would be great thanks everybody

Route HDMI signals over the coaxial cable that already exists in your house. - CONVERTERS & ADAPTERS would work but can get costly

You would be better off getting an H20 (high definition, non-dvr) and with MRV (see the CE forum) you will be able to view the recorded programs on the DVR through the H20......the two boxes will need to be connected through a wired or wirless network.

H20 receivers don't have a network connection on them so they won't be able to use Media Share, TVApps or MRV. You need a H21, H22 or H23 as a non-DVR HD receiver to make use of the networking functions.

That STB has an ethernet port on it so it would be able to make use of all the networked applications mentioned.

I wasn't aware that the H20 doesn't have a network port. Learn something new everyday!

MRV is still a little buggy, but it gets better and better with every update. I have been using it for a few weeks now as part of the CE updates. MRV will probably be released in a national release sometime around the first of the year. Until then, check out the CE forum, lots of good stuff there...
