Advice on Cable Modems

I'm signing up for Comcast and they say I can either pay $7 a month to rent a modem or I can buy my own. It has to be Docsis 3.0 compatible. Do any of you recommend a certain brand or model?

I have always used the Motorola Surfboard and current have an SB6120 that I highly recommend.

I have the Motorola sbg6580 with built in wifi. I have not had any problems.

I have the SB6121 Moto. Works great. My only advice is that when you are ready to hook it up, call Comcast. It needs their tech support to get it to work. I will not work automatically.
