My Samsung 5500 Blu-ray player had an update banner come up last week. So I said yes and went ahead and loaded it up. Now I am now having issues with playing either a Blu-Ray or Standard def. DVD's. What its doing is its loading very slow and acts like its locking up. I've even had to go into the movie menu and select the chapter to start the movie. I have cleaned every disk and no noticeable scratches. These are rental DVD's from Redbox and Family Video. I had a movie that the disk looked very good and It had a lot of breaking up and freezing on the entry previews. Also whats with the no option to skip the previews and go right to the movie. Has anyone had these issues. Player worked great before the update. Thanks for any help.

Try doing a factory reset and clearing the BDlive data from the memory. Directions should be in the user manual. Warner will not let you skip previews. It's disabled. You have to use the FF. Most will let you skip from preview to preview. Disney will let you hit the top menu to go straight to the menu. It's all in the authoring. Nothing you can do about it.
