yep!!! everything spies on you today lol... even the content owners spy on cable and sat boxes to see what everyones watching then they bump those channels into higher tier packages

That's why I don't connect DiSH to internet. Of course everyone can see where it's going, which is all to streaming, which is its own can of worms.

So the "telescreens" that were everywhere in 1984 playing propaganda whilst spying on those they could see have arrived just a few decades late

I turned all that OFF on my TCL Roku tv sets. It can be done, at least on those. I just re-checked them the other day, and it remains off.

On my Sony, and presumably many others, you can turn that feature off.

Doesn't matter. Communicates anyway. So you just block the address at the router. I did that. But when I changed equipment, I never got around to redoing it.

I don't really care if they catch me watching Debbie Does Toledo.

we just bought the mother in law a TCL and it forces you to connect to the internet. it won't finish the setup unless it's connected!!!

I remember i had a hell pc. and i had a smut picture for my desktop. i remember asking the rep if he could see what was on my screen . when he said that he could see what my desktop was i could hear them turning red over the phone
