Why do "some programs" (but not all) on the Gospel Broadcasting Network 12144 (V), 2573(SR) on AMC 6, display video in a strobing manner with audio out of sync? This happens on both coolsat 5000 and Viewsat Ultra. Do they transmit their programs on video compressions other than MPEG2? Oh, I forgot to mention, my Q is usually in the 70s, so it has nothing to do with that.

For what it is worth, I'll add that the same thing happens on the Fortec Classic NA. Never understood why.

I have seen this happen on programs that the origin is PAL and the receiver do the conversion to NTSC. Usually tv programs from Argentina and Paraguay which are the ones that I can recall.

That may be true but I receive many PAL signals on Galaxy 19 @ 97.0°W and I don't experience the same problems.

I have also noticed that problem with my Coolsat 6000, but my Pansat 3500 does not have that problem.

I think you are talking about the religious channel where the guy has a scruffy grey beard and always chomping on a cigar? That is one of these channels anyway. There are a few more. This one isn't usually so bad. There is one with a semi-bald guy chatting and that one is really messed up.

I believe that the problem is their uplink and nothing to do with our reception. I know of two or three channels like this and they are really strange and difficult to watch as it is almost animated. The audio sync is so bad that you almost cannot stand to watch it. Either silence the audio and run a subtitle or put the channel on a radio feed and dispose of the video.

The two together (video and audio) are just horrible.

I just dialed this specific channel in with my new 1.2 M dish and it is the same as it was with my 76 cm dish. The audio track is way off, and I don't mean that it is off just slightly to annoy a person, it is WAY OFF! Sometimes it is off an entire sentence.

The longer you stay on the channel, and I have no idea why this would be, but it seems to improve. Now it is only off enough to not match the speaker's mouth by a few milliseconds. Evidentally it syncs up better after a while.

Maybe the uplink signal is weak.

I am not really that interested in this channel, but I kept it on just to check the audio sync issue. Right now it is spot on, the audio and video are matched just perfect.

One or two of my boxes won't find that one either unless I put in manually, but I never watched it enough to notice a sync problem. I think its the low SR that most blind scanners are blind to.
Check out that other tv preacher , same satellite AMC6 ku at 11890H SR1666 , he's on pretty late, and on weekends. He's decided, somehow, that the Mayan calender "end of the world" date is wrong, and it's really gonna happen in Oct 2011. Never heard any explanation for that one.....

If I can remember to do so, I will dial in on that. Turbo, were you ever a fan of Art Bell? I definitely was, before he retired from the program. Now it isn't as much fun.

I enjoyed the episodes of "Mels' Hole" and "The Light said Great!" and the "Ghost Under the Coffee Table"!

They are not that much fun anymore. They are trying to be too serious now with Jim Norry and the other guy as the hosts. Art Bell jumped in knowing that it was for entertainment and made it funny as heck!

The Ghost under the coffee table was probably one of my favorites. The caller informs Art Bell that he has finally trapped this "entity" under his coffee table with some special gadgets and electronic wizardly devices.

Art Bell asks the caller if he realizes how P.O.'d this entity will be when he actually has to release it or if the power goes off in the meantime and the entity escapes...

The caller responded... "Oh crap, I never thought about that!" "He's gonna be mad, isn't he?"

Art Bell: "Yeah I imagine that he will be!"

When I do a blind Scan, VS Ultra Picks up the Transponder in (Channel Scan), but for some reason does not display the Channel on TV. For me to see it, I have had to do a Manual Scan. On the other hand, My Coolsat gets it on Blind Scanning. I always choose Detail on Coolsat when I blind Scan.........Lovely Receiver for Blind Scans. Glad, I picked up one.


After all said. what is the reason for the choppy video and delayed Audio?

he died a few years ago. His Widow (Melissa Scott...ex adult star) now does the preaching

she is on every night at 6:00-8:00 Central time and Sundays at 1:00PM....and sprinkled throughout the day. Doc Scott is on at other times
