AMC3 - Can you hear me?

Are we suppose to get any audio on AMC3?

Most of my channels are soundless..........

It's AC-3 audio. You will need to decode it. Connect the digital out of the stb, either coax or optical to an outboard decoder, such as a modern av receiver. Some stb's will decode it internally such as the pansat 9200, but it has a price.

AMC3 can hear you just fine .. Yep its ac3 audio..

The cheapest way is with a pair of headphones that have an optical input. It was discussed in a thread a while back.

Another possibility, my solution is the Soundblaster Extigy external sound device. Here's a review, http://www.satelliteguys.us/fta-mpe...extigy-external-sound-card-ac-3-decoding.html .
I found my for $30 on ebay, used, and it continues to work just fine.

Montana PBS doesn't need any extra equipment. The HD boxes will decode the other PBS stations just fine with no extra equipment
