I've been thinking about upgrading from my nano hd. What would be a better choice the Alien 2 or the Alien 3? I'm looking for something with the least amount of bugs.

The A2 has been discontinued. The A3 is a stable Android based STB. It will come with a slight learning curve over say the Nano you have, but does have the "bells" and "Whistles".
If you are already familiar with using smart phones it will not be so bad.

maybe you should look at the new Linkbox 9000i that will be out soon. I like the 8000, but would like a few things fixed that I hope will be in the 9000i.
I am really happy with my A3. It is the only receiver I have used so I can not compare it to others.
