Just saw a little clip on 45 about Antenna TV coming on 6/14. Will be a subchannel off 45 :) ThisTV moving subchannel #'s

WOO HOO!! I've been wanting this for a LONG time. And now its coming :)

Sounds like when you are done scanning it will be
5-1 KSTP 5 (RF35)
5-3 MeTV (RF45)
5-4 Antenna TV (RF45)
5-45 KSTC 45 (RF45)
5-6 ThisTV (RF45)
45-5 replays of news/shows (RF35)

Looks like your ch 45 has some real good sub-stations . I watch Antenna Tv , it's sub of Fox 2 St.Louis , Great Channel . I think you'll enjoy it , I know I do !

yup. We can thank Hubbard for it (they started USSB back in the day...Directv bought them out). Here in Minneapolis CBS, Fox, My and NBC are owned by the network or in the case of NBC Gannett. So they dont do subchannels except for cross promote (Fox and My) or weather

Hubbard owns the ABC and an Independent in town (KSTC45)....and along with Sinclair who owns the CW (we have Cool TV and Country on CW subchannels) they are the only "subchannel" friendly station. So I'm happy :)

Huh , guess that explains why NBC 5 in St.Louis only has weather as a sub , (Gannett owned) . Very thankful CW 11 & Fox 2 owned by the Tribune Co. has This Tv & Antenna Tv as sub's . Sinclair owns ABC 30 and supply's the Cool Tv & Country Net. All these channels (plus four of ch9 PBS) have decent signal strength for people like me who live 50-60 miles west of there . But My Tv with ME Tv as a sub (Roberts Brdcstng) is just east of St.Lou , so I get ME as a sub from ch 17 Columbia . 50 miles to the east . If it wasn't for neighbors trees & powerlines I'd have about all the Free ch's I need .

yeah most Gannett owned stations have weather on a -2. There are a couple exceptions
NBC2 in Buffalo has Antenna TV
WUSA in Washington has Bounce TV on -2 (weather on -3)

so just waiting for Thursday now :)

looks like they are moving 5-45 to 5-2....hmmmm...

per someone who works at 5/45/Hubbard

45-5 "KSTP Rewind" is gone for now. Don't know if it'll ever return. Likely not. The channel line-up that will begin this Thursday at about noon is:

5-1 KSTP/ABC - 720P
5-2 KSTC-IND - 720P
5-3 MeTv-MGM Classics - 480I
5-4 AntennaTv-Tribune Classics - 480I
5-5 reserved for now
5-6 ThisTv-MGM Movies - 480I

We are working on an agreement with LiveWell Tv and hope to also be able to launch that very soon. Not determined yet if it will be 5-7 or use the reserved 5-5.

more info.....we are getting Live Well too. They are ironing out the details

per the person at Hubbard this is how channel assignments will be set up

For those of you that are curious:
5-1 KSTP @ 720p on RF 35
5-2 KSTC @ 720p on RF 45
5-3 MeTv @ 480i on RF 45
5-4 AntennaTv @ 480i on RF 45
5-5 Reserved
5-6 ThisTv @ 480i on RF 45
5-7 LiveWell (future) @ 720P on RF 35 (much of the nature programming is 720p and we want to pass that along as 720p but will adjust as required when sports are on 5-1)

I'm more excited for Antenna TV. They have some good stuff on there. Plus if I want "Live Well" I have access to 3 feeds (E, W and an affiliate) on big dish. Antenna TV is scrambled on big dish :(

I think the difference is pretty easy to see ;)
your market.....3 channels
my market....16 channels (although 6 are religious)

by the way RTV can be received with a free to air dish. A 30" dish and you could get RTV. Tuff TV and PBJ (cartoons)
MeTV and ThisTV requires a 6 foot or larger dish

Well they were smart....when you go to 5-7 right now it shows this (they will be putting Live Well there once they get the contract ironed out) ;)

They're working off 2 actual stations 35 & 45. Both are owned by same company so they decided to streamline their PSIP info. Our PBS did that at the DTV conversion back in 09. In the analog days PBS was 2 and 2ndary PBS was 17 (both owned by Twin Cities Public TV). When the conversion happened they redid their digital lineup
2-1 is main PBS. It runs off of channel 34
2-2 is the MN channel. Shows PBS programs from other PBS stations in MN, ND, SD and Wisconsin. Also on 34
2-3 is called TPT Life (TPT-Twin Cities PBS). This is kinda what was analog 17. It is off of RF channel 23
2-4 is 24/7 aeronautical weather...also on 34

Now back to the question. I posted above each one. But here it is again

For those of you that are curious:
5-1 KSTP @ 720p on RF 35
5-2 KSTC @ 720p on RF 45
5-3 MeTv @ 480i on RF 45
5-4 AntennaTv @ 480i on RF 45
5-5 Reserved
5-6 ThisTv @ 480i on RF 45
5-7 LiveWell (future) @ 720P on RF 35 (much of the nature programming is 720p and we want to pass that along as 720p but will adjust as required when sports are on 5-1)

So channel 35 logs 5-1 (ABC) and 5-7 (which is now a slate....will be Live Well) (both will be 720p when LW launches..right now its 480i)
45 logs 5-2 (KSTC 45), 5-3 (MeTV), 5-4 (Antenna) and 5-6 (ThisTV)...45 (5-2) is 720p and the others are 480i

Here is a pic from rabbitears.info of the mapping and channels if you're still confused. If you want to see the PBS just go to the site and we (Minneapolis) are market #14
