I got me a 36 inch geosat dish, now I need a motor. If anyone has one for sale i am interested. I seen some online, but would the dm 2800 be too big for the geosat 36 inch dish? It says it ia for 1.2 meters.

Size difference is negligible. Key questions are whether a replacement motor will fit and whether it will be compatible with your positioner (voltage, movement counter)

Check out the Moteck SG2100 on eBay. These have a good reputation and should fit your dish. Also make sure to look at the mounting tube size on whatever motor you buy. There are 40mm and 55 mm etc..

As Casey says, check ebay and any other online marketplace such as facebook, kijiji (Canada), etc. You will need to look hard since Ku USALS motors are as rare as hen's teeth. I don't think you will find new but you never know. Motors are heavy so shipping will add to the price.

I found a Stab HH120 rotator, like new, last summer locally via an ad on facebook marketplace. The seller wanted US$15 so I offered full price! I don't think he had any hope of ever selling it since there aren't too many FTAers around here anymore. I used up a lot of luck by finding this.

I second this, I bought one and am using it on a smaller DirectTV dish that works good enough for my Ku motoring

This story was completely accurate...except for the item! The item was in fact a VBox7 mover for a C-band actuator, not a Stab HH120.

In actual fact, I did source from kijiji a like-new Stab HH120 last summer too from a former FTAer and I paid him US$54 for it plus shipping. He included a used SG-2100 motor for free in the deal and lots of other stuff like cables, LNBs and diseqc switches. I feel I was lucky on this deal too.

I second this 100% I started with an HH90 and it never worked well. Changed to an SG2100 and it's been rock solid. I even have a spare! Pay attention to the size of the tube before you order.

Here is a STAB HH90 located in Michigan
